August.

With my head in my hands, I sighed and rubbed the back of my neck. "It was an accident.."

"Answer the question damn it! What the hell happened?!" Rocky shouted, towering over me.

I lifted my head out of my hands and looked up at him with angry eyes. Was he really pinning this all on me? This, all of this shit is technically his fault. It was his fault for me not having the money. He kept asking to borrow shit. Damn. I turned my head over to the bed where Zonnique laid, her body gracefully thrown across the white bedding. She had a white bandage wrapped around her torso and she was sound asleep. Her blonde hair created a thin layer over her face and she was lightly snoring. I glanced back up and Rocky, then at the floor.

"I'm not gonna ask you again, August." He huffed and shoved his hands in his pockets.

"It wasn't my--"

"I didn't fucking ask you that." He grumbled.

I sighed and leaned forward in my chair, resting my elbows on my knees. "Julian and his boys came by the house while we were checking it out." I shrugged. "They wanted money, I didn't have it."

Rocky squinted his eyes and drug his feet along the carpet over to the couch. "Where were Asia and Zonnique when all of this was happening?"

"In the car." I licked my lips, shooting him a solid glare. "Anything else you wanna know, Rocky? Anything else you wanna blame on me?" I flared my nostrils and clenched my jaw. I don't have time for Rocky to be interrogating me when Zonnique and Asia just got shot. He's asking me the fucking stupidest questions ever. What happened? Where was Asia and Zonnique? What time was it when they approached you? Like does all of this shit really matter?

"I'm not blaming you." He huffed, rubbing the bridge of his nose.

"Really?" I raised my eyebrows, and fake chuckled. "Cause it seems like your saying all of this is my fault. Like the fact that I didn't have the money for Julian and his boys. Are you serious? Weren't you the one that kept coming to me asking for money cause your black ass was broke?" My loud voice bounced off the walls.

"Don't br--"

"Why the hell am I taking orders from you anyway?" I stood up, furrowing my eyebrows. "I'm your boss, not the other way around god damn it. I run shit around here." I slammed my hand on the table and grabbed my car keys. "I'm gonna go to the hospital to see if their 'experiments' on Asia is actually working. Stay here in case Zonnique wakes up." I scoffed, snatching the door open and slamming it shut.

I wasn't so sure Asia was going to live since the bullet seemed to be so close to her brain, but had to make sure Zonnique didn't know she was badly hurt until I know that she's actually dead..

Because it's not looking like she's going to survive.

Zonnique.

I woke up with a blurred vision and a pounding headache. My hair was over my face and I couldn't really see, but I could hear everything.

August let out a deep sigh. "No one let's Zonnique know about any of this, okay?"

"Fine." Rocky cleared his throat.

"How am I going to keep this from her?! How can you do something like that August?!" Rhonda yelled, and it sounded like she was crying hella hard.

"I'm doing it to protect her, okay? She needs to be safe. And if you want that to maintain, you'll keep your loud mouth shut... understood?" August gritted his teeth, shooting her a death glare.
