Blue. The darkest, most beautiful blue. It stretched on for thousands of miles, and was once full of thriving life. Millions of creatures, big and small, lived in that big beautiful blue world. Whales, turtles, dolphins, jellies, coral, and fish of all kinds were just a few of the critters that relied on the vast oceans, and it wasn't just them. Land and sky life relied on the sea as well for a multitude of things. It was a source of food, boats were used to travel across it, and islands spread far and wide knew only the surrounding ocean as a means of life. But that was a long time ago. Slowly throughout the years, life began to die out in the deep blue oceans. Entire species of fish disapeared, whales washed up on glass riddled beaches, and toxic oil spills killed everything they touched. Blue turned to black, and the oceans that everyone relied on changed. No more fish could be caught, so, many seals and penguins and sharks starved. Sea turtles stopped coming on land to lay eggs, and birds stopped coming down to look for food. Losing the oceans that played such a vital role of the planet set off a chain reaction everywhere. No species were safe at that point, and the damage was already irreversible. The people of land saw it happening when it first started effecting Earth, and they knew it was because of their own actions, but they didn't do anything about it. Maybe they were scared to admit what they'd done, or maybe they didn't think they alone could fix the problems put in place by large corporations. Ignorance turned to idleness all to quickly, and people looked the other way for too long. They didn't act soon enough. Will you?
