"Ivy! Leah! Come on let's go! We have to get on the road before rush hour!" My mom shouted up the stairway.
I was putting my iPhone charger into my backpack right as my sister came popped into my room.
"Ready to go? Did you check to make sure you have everything?" My sister Ivy asked.
"Um yes I believe I have everything," I replied as I glanced around the room, "Are you ready?"
Ivy sighed. "You mean ready to move across the whole country? No. But we have to do this so, say goodbye and let's go."
We had to be on the road early because it was an hour drive to the airport and then get on the airplane. The moving truck left earlier this morning and when we get to North Carolina we are staying in a hotel until our things get here.
I snapped out of my thoughts and looked around my room. Nothing. It was empty. I turned around and walked through the doorway. I passed my sister's room and walked down the steps. My sister and parents were in the kitchen looking out the window.
"Let's go." I sighed, "I'm ready."
"Okay, let's go. The shuttle is here outside." My dad says.
In order for the cars to be shipped to North Carolina we had to drop it off at the car transporter thing. So, the airport sent a shuttle here to pick us up and take us to the airport.
"All our suitcases are already packed, so all we have to do is get in the shuttle." my mom explained.
We closed the door, locked it, and put the key in the lockbox. The shuttle driver was standing outside the shuttle and was looking extremely impatient.
"It's about time! We are going to be late! Get in!" the man tells us.
Well, he's a bit uptight! I think to myself.
We jump in and settle in. My mom and sister sit on each side of me. Great. I'm stuck in the middle. I realized I was kind of being negative and immediately banish those thoughts from my mind.
My dad sat in the front next to the driver. Honestly it was just like one of those taxis in New York but not yellow.
The interior of the car was nice and clean with smooth leather seats and soft black carpet. I looked past my sister at the house. "Bye" I whispered to myself so no one else could here. The driver started the car and slowly pulled away from the house. I immediately pulled out my phone and texted my best friend, Kaitlyn, who lived here.
"Bye Kaitlyn! I'm going to miss you so much!" I said.
Almost immediately she replied. "Bye! I can believe you are moving again! it seemed like just yesterday you moved here."
"I know. 8 months isn't long enough. Please keep in touch!"
"Don't worry I will. Hey, look. I have to go but I'll text you later. Okay?"
"That's fine. Bye."
I looked back out the window and continued to daydream for the rest of the ride.
