I turned the corner on my street to find max sat on my door step. The rain was bouncing off the ground the street lights made the road sparkle by reflecting off the puddles on the ground. "Urm heyy?" I said as I opened my gate. "Alright." Max smiled back at me like it was normal for him to be sat on my door step at 10pm. "How come you never took your car?" He asked like I was some freak for walking. "I left my car keys in yours..." I said as I started checking my pockets for my front door keys. "Looks like I left my house keys at yours as well." I frowned as I double checked my pockets. Max chuckled before starting to climb the tree in my front garden. "What are you doing?" I laughed as he nearly fell. "Well if you've left your keys only way to get in is through the window you left open." Max said as he balanced himself on a branch before shuffling himself along it to my living room window. "Watch you don't fall!" I shouted as he got closer and closer to the edge of the branch. He chuckled as he pulled himself forward and squeezed himself through the small gap of my open window.

I smiled as max opened my front door for me to get in. "You never told me you had a dog!" He laughed as Sam my dog started barking and growling at him. "Oi you!" I shouted at him and he suddenly just stopped barking. "Yeahh he may be small but he's a small ball of fury." I laughed as I picked him up into my arms. Max laughed as he patted him gently on the head before I put him back down. "So you want a cuppa?" I asked as I kicked off my wet shoes and hung up my jacket and made my way into the kitchen. "Yeah go on then." He replied smiling and following me in. "So how come you were outside?" I asked as I turned the kettle on. He shrugged his shoulders in reply. "So do you always appear on the door steps of girls you just meet?" I giggled he winked at me. "Nah there is just something about you that well attracts me to you." He replied as I handed him a mug. "Thanks." He mumbled in reply as he followed me to the living room. "Nice to see you left lovely muddy footprints on carpet." I laughed as I switched the TV on to take away the awkward silence that had fell upon us.

I lay in bed and just looked up at the ceiling. I couldn't stop thinking about max. He had only left an hour ago and I couldn't get him off my mind. I sighed and sat up. I walked over to my window and drew back the curtains and peaked out. It was hard to see the only light outside was the dull flickery light of the street lights. I could make out a short figure across the road. They were sat on the pavement staring back at me. I jumped back from the window and sat on my bed. Who was it? Why were they watching me? I went back over and looked out again.... The figure was still there this time closer. I could make out by body shape that it was a man. Why was a man watching me? He smiled up at me before turning away... Then I saw it... The Tattoo the exact same as Max's.

It all started to make sense... That's how he knew where I stayed he had been following me. Why me? What made him want to follow me? I lay down on my bed knowing there was no chance of me getting to sleep. I had to find out what was going on. I took out my phone and started to text max.

*why were you just outside? Xx

I lay there waiting... Just waiting on a reply. It didn't take long before my phone started bleeping.

*I left my jacket and I need it for work tomorrow. Sorry if I scared you... I tried waving to you but all you did was jump away from the window. Sorry if I scared you xx*

I read it and suddenly felt stupid. He didn't want me, he wasn't following me. He wanted his jacket.
