Chapter 6

  I sat up in bed. I rubbed my eyes before noticing I wasn’t alone…. Max was lying next to me. I smiled as his chest slowly moved up and down as he breathed. I stumbled up to my window before opening my curtains to blinding light. I quickly shut them again before reaching up to my neck and rubbing it gently. Flashbacks of the night before slowly came back to me as I rubbed my neck.

“Come outside? I need some air.” Max loudly whispered into my ear so I could hear him over the music that was blasting out of the speakers in the club. His hand slipped in mine as we made our way out of the club. We walked out and he just turned and looked at me. “You know I’m gonna miss you like mad when I’m in America.” Max slurred as he looked me up and down like I was some sort of food to him. I started to feel slightly uncomfortable. “Are you okay?” I asked him as he turned away from me. “Yeah fine!” He snapped back at me. I knew there was something wrong but I wasn’t sure if I should ask what was going on or not. “Urm I’m going to go back in and see the others.” I said as I turned away to walk back into the club.

I spent about an hour in the club before going back outside. As I went to leave I heard voices for the alley way just down from the club. I slowly walked closer to the alley way making sure to keep quiet. “I’m struggling mate… I nearly turned earlier when we was outside.” I heard Max say, I knew it was Max I could just tell. “You have to watch! You know we can’t get caught!” A voice I’m sure that was Nathan’s said sternly.  “I know that! I’m not stupid!” Max said back loudly. “You sure she is well the one?” Nathan asked adding emphasis on the one just like Tom did when he asked him the same the other night. “Course I’m sure! She has the tattoo and well she’s here tonight isn’t she?” Max replied quite proudly. “Yeah, but does she know what you are planning on doing tonight?” Nathan asked slightly worried. “Of course she doesn’t! But I’m sure she’s the one. 100%.” Max said sternly before I heard footsteps getting louder and louder. I panicked as I knew I never had time to run back to the club especially since I had massive heels on. I turned away but I was pulled back by Nathan. “Did you hear any of that?!” He asked me looking in my eyes. It was like he could tell what I was thinking, like he knew what I was about to say. “Eh… Urm…N-N-No?” I stuttered… I was never good at lying. “You sure about that? You never heard anything?” Nathan said lifting me off the ground slightly. I looked at him. I was terrified. “Oh I’m sorry!” Nathan quickly said as my feet were reunited with the ground.

I started running. I didn’t know where I was going but I just ran. I turned to see if Max was behind me but as I turned back round to carry on running he was standing leaning on the wall in front of me just waiting. I turned to run the other way and there he was again. Was I going crazy? How did he move that fast?! “What were you planning on doing tonight?!” I asked him not even sure I wanted an answer. I was terrified. He walked closer to me and took my hands stopping me from shaking from fear. “You sure you want to know?” He asked me looking in my eyes. I nodded not looking away from him. He smiled as his eyes slowly changed colour like they did the other night. His grey/blue eyes were gone and replaced with a piercing red. I tried to move away but he had a hold of me. I was unable to move any part of my body. His hands were on my shoulders pushing me down. He was strong. He was too strong to be human. “Just relax.” He said to me I gulped as his face got closer and closer to mine. I closed my eyes preparing for whatever was about to happen. Just as I went to open my eyes I felt his lips crash against mine. He loosened his grip on me and I relaxed as we stood there in a random street kissing.

Just as I was completely relaxed he stopped kissing me and I felt a sharp, throbbing pain in my neck. I felt the blood run down my neck and slowly run down my arm. Max never moved from my neck. A tear rolled down my cheek from the pain causing me to cry. The pain faded but Max didn’t stop. I started to feel light headed I was unable to move. “Max.” I murmured slowly causing him to stop. “Just relax.” He said gently to me as he took me in his arms.

 I stood there looking out the window rubbing my neck slowly. It tingled with pain as I touched it. I felt Max’s arms wrap around my waist as he planted soft, gentle kisses on the scar that was now on my neck. “Now we will spend a life time together. There’s no stopping us.” He whispered to me as we both looked out the window. Within a blink of an eye the rest of the boys appeared outside my window with their girls. I looked closely at their necks and could see they had scars to. “Don’t worry it will fade. Just wear a scarf for now.” Max said as he wrapped one round my neck before taking my hand and pulling me back in bed laughing.
