Victoria Kennikot

"Leave me alone." I run away from pink haired girl chasing me.

"C'mon! Do it!" She chases after me. I swerve around a couch and dart to the kitchen.

"Leave me alone !" I run faster and make a u-turn to my room. I'm almost done closing the door but a thin, sandal covered foot stops it.

"Ow! Fucking shit!" She hops into my room holding her foot. "Why does it look so easy on tv?!" She flops into my bed, trying to blow on her big toe.

"Alyssa, get out of my room! I'm not doing it!" I say crossing my arms standing in front of her.

"Please Vicki? What's the point in saying no?" She pouts.

"Maybe it's in saving me the humiliation, embarrassment, and problems that come with doing it!" I yell at my best friend begging me to do a horrible, horrible thing.

"Ew, you're acting so dramatic! You act like this isn't the best thing that can happen to your teenage life." She dramatically says.

I sit down next to her. Two days ago I was contacted by my cousin who told me she had found me a job. Excitedly I asked her for details. This job was not what I expected.

At all.

Apparently, my cousin had emailed pictures and descriptions of me to this multi-million record company who saw me as the perfect person to play girlfriend to a pop star.

I had no clue what to do. I knew there had to be a catch somewhere because I usually don't fit the 'celebrity girlfriend' criteria. I was plump and short, and my eyes were brown, along with my hair. There was nothing about me that would be considered as beautiful, so the fact that they wanted me was far too strange.

I had to give them an answer by 11:59 pm today.

"Alyssa, I'm not usually what people like. What if Miranda photoshopped the pics?" I sigh laying down.

"You're so annoying. Obviously, they thought you were hot." I give her a bewildered look and lay back down.

"You're insane." I feel her lay down next to me.

"What are you going to say?" She whispers as we both stare at the ceiling.

"Well, if you think about it, we can get a bigger apartment. And live 'lavish'," I giggle.

"Ooh 'lavish', we like her." Alyssa nudges me.

I had no idea what I was going to do or say, if I said no I would also be saying no to 15 grand a month, yes, wow, I know. But if I say yes I'll also be saying yes to a 10-month contract.

"You don't think it's a little creepy, how all of this went down? Like how Miranda was sending them pictures without me knowing?" I ask propping my head on my elbow.

"Yeah, it is a little creepy. But still insanely cool." She says, elbowing my side.

"Maybe, we can email them pictures of you, to see if they chose you instead?" I joke, but it's not that bad of a plan.

"Yeah," Alyssa snorts, "cause they would want a pink haired dwarf." She jokes back.

Alyssa was short, well we both were. She was 5'2 and I was about 5'2 and a half. She was naturally a blonde, but after deciding she was punk, she dyed it pink.

"Well, I mean, they wanted a fat dwarf." I giggle before sitting up.

"Shut up!" She giggles back.

I ponder the idea. I would be publicly dating a celebrity, who, I still didn't know. If he is as famous as Miranda said he was, then I would probably be forced to go to award shows and celebrity birthday parties. I would never have enough confidence to do that.

However, it would be the opportunity of a lifetime, and it was only going to be for the next ten months. Not to mention that the money is great and very needed.

I stare at the laptop sitting on the desk and before I knew it I was standing up. I walked straight towards the desk and sat down, I open my laptop.

I guess I'm agreeing to the job. But, and there is a but, if there is a catch, I will tell your mom about your side boob tattoo, as well as my mom. And I will also tell Jonah that it was you who took the screenshots of him at the lake.

Love, your cousin Victoria.

p.s. I have Jonah on every social media outlet.

My hand wanders over the send icon, I was beginning to change my mind. There was no way I could ever agree to this. It was humiliating and degrading. Deciding I couldn't do it, I drag the mouse to the 'x' on the corner. But before I could press it something knocked my hand over forcefully.

I watch as Alyssa takes over my computer and presses something.

"What are you doing!" I yell, pushing her away. To my horror, the screen read something I was hoping to avoid.

Email Sent.

Well shit.

"I'm going to kill you!" I almost tackled the small girl to the ground but she was too quick. She runs towards the door.

"You'll thank me one day!" She yells before running out of the door. "Maybe!" She yells once she's in the hallway.
