Outside after lunch Vivienne and Draco have flying practice. The students, Gryffindor and Slytherin, are lined up in two rows with brooms by their sides. The teacher, comes down the line. She has short hair and hawk yellow eyes, "good afternoon, class."
"Good afternoon, Madam Hooch," chimes the class and Vivienne stares at Hooch's yellow eyes.
Good afternoon, good afternoon," she says to class, "welcome to your first flying lesson. Well, what are you waiting for? Everyone step up to the left side of their broomstick. Come on now, hurry up. Stick your right hand over the broom and say, Up!"
Following their teacher's instructions, the class yells, "up!"
Harry's broom flies into his hand and so does Vivienne's and she grins."Whoa," they say in unison, Vivienne notices Hermione staring in frustration and continues with her broom.
"Up!" Draco commands and the broomstick flies up, causing him to smugly grin."With feeling!" Hock instructs, gripping her whistle and her eyes pierce into Vivienne's eyes.
"Up. Up. Up. Up." Hermione says stubbornly as her broom wiggles on the ground.
"Up!" Ron's broom flies up and conks him on the nose, "ow!" Harry laughs beside him and Vivienne howls in glee. "Shut up, Harry. You too V!" He laughs.
Now, once you've got hold of your broom, I want you to mount it. And grip it tight, you don't want to be sliding off the end," says Hooch as the class mounts, "when I blow my whistle, I want each of you to kick off from the ground, hard. Keep your broom steady, hover for a moment, and then lean forward slightly and touch back down. On my whistle...3...2..." her whistle tweets.
Neville immediately lifts off. He looks quite frightened. "Oh..."
"Mr. Longbottom." Hooch says sternly and her face is scrunched in concern.
