The next morning I woke up to the twins screaming, “I got it” Kyle said as I rolled over and looked at my phone to see what time it was. I sat up and did my morning thing, yawn, stretch, groan, yawn, stretch, drag myself out of bed. I left my phone plugged into the charger and went to get something to eat.
Kyle was in the recliner holding one twin with a bottle while little d had the other one in his lap on the couch, “that’s cute” I said and went to get my phone, cleaned out my messages and then took a picture of the guys. “Sarah still asleep?” I asked, “yeah” replied Kyle then she cried, “not anymore” I said and made a playful face.
Kyle went to work and I was left with the kids, little d is such a good brother, then Sarah (Brendan’s wife) came over with her kids, she had twins now too. “There so cute” I said, “so are DJ and Eli” said Sarah, Eli was the nick name we came up for little Elijah (e-lie).
Me and Sarah went shopping to get stuff for little d and her kids to start school, when I had wondered off and left the kids with Sarah, knowing she could take care of them for the short time I would be away. I then got cornered in the men’s clothing department when I was looking for the bathroom; some big black man was in front of me.
“Sarah!” I shouted as he got closer, I was stuck in a corner; I kicked him and ran off while he fell to the floor. “What’s wrong?” Sarah asked when I found her again, “um” I said slightly breathless, she looked past me and saw the man following me. “Do you know him?” she asked.
I looked over and got the creeps, “no I don’t, he had me cornered when I walked threw the men’s department looking for a bathroom” I replied. “That’s creepy” she said and started to move quicker. We got out as quick as we could; I was putting the school bags away in the closet when I saw the same guy outside the house.
I called Kyle and told him what was going on, and then I heard the front door come open. “Who’s that?” Kyle asked sounding worried, “I don’t have the best of luck do I?” I asked then pulled open the knife drawer and pulled out one of my big butcher knifes, I crept around the corner with my knife tight in my hand.
I walked around the corner to see the big man holding a pitcher of Kyle and me before we moved, “who’s this?” he asked. “What do you mean who?” I asked with Kyle still on the phone, barely breathing, I could hear him start his car at the studio. “What do you mean? He’s my husband” I finished.
“husband?!” he said and got angry, I jumped and could hear little d’s bare feet on the tile floors as he came to see what was going on. “Darren! Go watch the twins, mommy’s ok.” I said towards the sound. “Who’s he?” the big man said and grabbed my arm too tightly, “he’s my son, I have 3 boys and a daughter” I bravely answered.
“You were meant to be with me!” he yelled, “you? I don’t know who you are.” I said and he shoved me into one of the hard dinning room chairs. I heard Kyle’s car pull up and Kyle creep the front door open, “Ashley?” he said and walked in and saw me tied to the chair.
“ash!” he said and the big man came from around the corner, “holy sh*t” Kyle said when he saw the huge guy. “be careful” I said and the guy back handed me, my chair hopped back two inches from the force of his hit. My phone started ringing and the big man smacked his huge fist down on it, it broke into half a million little pieces.
I only saw the name briefly but I knew who it was, Brendan, Im sure he was worried when I hadn’t sent him a text all day. Not texting isn’t something I would do for more then a few hours. The big man, we’ll call him brutis because of his huge form, walked up in front of Kyle and I saw Kyle’s eyes go wide.
