"Haven't you heard of the 'nursery?' Why are you in here?" Specklestar asked, sounding tired.
Dawnkit crouched down, looking like she was trying to pull off a hiss, but she wouldn't dare to do that to the leader.
Shadowkit looked at her sister, then the leader, "W-we didn't know it was the leaders den!"
"Just don't bother the warriors. Come on, I'll get someone else to show you around." Specklestar rolled her eyes.
"We were trying to go on our own!" She heard her sister mutter.
"'You' tried to!"
The leader sprung to her paws, and out of her den with just a few pawsteps.
Dawnkit and Shadowkit followed her every step of getting down the stone slabs, and finally down onto the ground again.
Dawnkit raced ahead of her leader, and finally burst into where Specklestar was aiming for -- the medicine cat den.
The moonlit clearing shone onto the pile of rocks; making them stand out from the rest of the dens, and making it easy to spot the medicine den without having to use your nose.
Shadowkit tagged along with her sister.
Sagefur's whiskers twitched in amusement, "Are these Willowcloud's kits? Wow they grown so fast!" She sprung to her paws.
"I hope you don't mind showing these kits around.." Specklestar meowed.
Sagefur looked at the leader, "I don't mind at all! Perhaps after seeing this you would like volunteering to help us! Even become Cloudpaw's apprentice!"
"Cloudpaw, show me what these are." Sagefur meowed, picking up a herb that had a bunch of flower like leaves on it, and purple on the tip.
"That is Heather nectar, it eases swallowing." Cloudpaw replied looking back at the patch of herbs she needed to sort.
"Correct!" Sagefur purred.
"Does she have to remember all those herbs?" Shadowkit pointed with her tail at the slab of herbs.
"If she wants to heal!" Sagefur answered.
Dawnkit padded up to Cloudpaw. "What are those?" She pointed at a group of berries.
"That is a juniper berry, and that one is a yew berry." Cloudpaw mewed.
"But don't even think about messing with them! Juniper berries can give you a belly ache if eaten too much." Cloudpaw purred, "And the yew berry, also known as deathberries can hurt you, badly!" Cloudpaw tried to scare her.
"Oh no!" Dawnkit flattened her ears.
"Don't worry, the berries are easy to spot in a patch of berries! You'll know what to eat and what to not mess with." Sagefur assured her.
Shadowkit gazed curiously at Cloudpaw, "How many moons is she?"
"About nine moons, she learned everything so quick!" Sagefur looked at Shadowkit, then Cloudpaw.
Cloudpaw said nothing, but shown a smile while sorting still some herbs.
"Oh, and, that slab of stone is where we sort and show our herbs, over there." She then pointed with her paw, "Is a rock where we heat up herbs, or if cold weather, rather do it to herbs that need to be a little more colder."
"Over there is where we keep our herbs placed." She looked at some pockets at the edge of the top corner of the den, "And the forest is where we get our herbs is the outside."
"Can we go out into the forest?" Dawnkit hopped up and down, "I bet we can get all herbs!"
"I wouldn't think so, we'll run out faster than a rabbit's hop!"
Dawnkit and Shadowkit looked at each other, puzzled, but before they can say anything, Sagefur meowed, "Well, you best be back to the nursery, or you can ask Willowcloud if you can stay up a bit longer for elder's tales!"
Shadowkit and Dawnkit then were escalated back to the nursery, and safely through the brambles.
"One more question," Shadowkit then looked at Sagefur, "why are these brambles even here, they hurt my brother!"
"It's more like defense so enemies can't go through very easily, but, we are working on making the hole for queens and kits a little bigger so they can through more simple." Sagefur replied, and then padded away back into the medicine den.
Shadowkit stared after her, and then stopped staring when Dawnkit brushed against her for her to follow.
"That's stupid, it seems like these brambles been here forever!" Dawnkit squealed.
"At least a badger hasn't come in and scoop you up!" Willowcloud meowed to them as soon as the two approached.
"How was it?" Nightkit sighed.
"Amazing! Though we didn't see all of camp, we are excited to see more of it tomorrow!" Dawnkit meowed.
"And that time with you!" Shadowkit sprung to her paws.
Nightkit flattened and folded back his ears, "The thorns didn't even hurt that bad!"
"Well, they could've with you running and scattering everywhere!"
"I wouldn't!" He looked at Willowcloud.
Willowcloud then looked at Shadowkit and Dawnkit, "You two must get rest, you too, Nightkit."
Nightkit opened his mouth to protest, but then closed it, and laid down.
Shadowkit laid down, she rested her head on her paws, and curled up into a little ball, her tail touching her nose and keeping her warm.
Dawnkit curled next to her sister, and soon, they fell asleep.
