A small little boy quietly wandered the woods, his clothes in tatters and small burns on his legs and arms...his village had been attacked a week ago, he was the only survior. As he walked through the towering pines and redwoods, he noticed a squirrel, hunger took over him, he pelted after it....it scurried up into the safety of a pines branches.

He ran straight into its trunk, and began wailing in distress wishing he was back in the safety of his home, in his village where food was plentiful and filling. His cries reached the ears of a nearby beast, it curiously slithered towards the racket of a child in distress. As the boy continued crying he didn't notice the beast behind him, until it pressed its head against his back affectionately.

He froze before he slowly turned and came face to face with the snake like beast...it had a crown of stiff leaves that were the same size as him, its body seem have bushes growing out of it with red berries and vines stuck out of the bushes here and there. It had black eyes with green orbs as irises and pupils. It regarded him softly no aggression in its eyes, it coiled around him softly.

The boy slowly reached out a hand curiously and placed it on the gentle beast's face, its body was warm, it leaned into the pets before softly shaking its body causing berries to fall from its bushes...the boy noticed and began eating the berries hungrily. The beast watched him softly like a she wolf with her curious pups. After he was fed the beast picked him up and began carrying him somewhere, after a while the beast finally came to a village. A few people ran up to the beast happily, all of the villagers were 18 years old or younger and eventually the entire village gathered around the beast and the boy. "Welcome to the family" one person said smiling brightly.

The boy looked up at the beast and smiled happily glad to have a new home.
