Today I was introduced to some different clubs and classes that I could take. I'm mostly interested in art club since that's what I do. I do some graffiti, but not a ton. Art is sure to teach me some new fonts and ideas. I walked in the art room and thought it looked awesome! I saw some kids in the back using spray paint. It was all over their pants and they kinda dressed the same. They might be siblings. I approached them and wanted to socialize with them. "Hey, your that Drift kid," one of them said. "My names Abstract, and that's my sister, Teknique" "So I see you guys use spray paint. Do you guys do graffiti?" I asked. "You betcha Drift," Teknique responded. I'm surprised they didn't ask about my black eye. Until Abstract said, "Hey Drift you okay? You gotta black eye and it's pretty noticeable." Just as I said it. I have to come up with a excuse. "Yeah, I ran into a pole." They shrugged it off and said to be careful. "Hey Drift how old are you?" teknique asked. "I'm... 14" They shook my hand and asked me if I wanted to hang out with them at lunch. I responded yes.
-lunch bell rings...-
I look around the lunchroom and spot Abstract and Teknique. I walk to their table and sit with them. "So how was your first day?"Abstract asked me. "It was okay, but there's this really annoying kid named Raptor and honestly he's just a jerk," I told him. "Yeah Raptor is a dickhead. We heard about what happened at lunch. But you shouldn't fight unless he seriously hurts you." "He did push me on to concrete." That's when they stood up to look for raptor. "Wait here kid." and they got up and left. I saw them talking to another kid, who went up to Raptor and yelled at him. I watched in fear he would come after me.
-after school...-
I was gonna walk home when Abstract said, "Hey Drift!" I turned around and waved at him. Him and Teknique ran to me. "We were gonna tag up a building. Wanna come with us? We can teach some cool art styles." "Hell yeah! That sounds awesome." I walked with them towards Titled Towers. "There, underneath the bridge." We ran under there and checked for any cops. The coast was clear so we started tagging. That's when I put my mask on. "Drift thats the coolest mask I've ever seen! Wait a sec.." He was drawing something, but I couldn't see until he moved. I couldn't believe my eyes. It was my mask! "It's awesome!" I said. We walked back to Salty Springs and it turns out, we live on the same block. "Hey Drift, wanna come over our place?" I gleefully responded yes. When I entered their house, there was some old, west coast rap playing through out the house. The walls were littered with drawings of just random stuff. "Yeah it's a mess, but hey it's still pretty cool. Teknique wandered into what I believe was her bedroom. I went into Abstract's room and was greeted to a Xbox and PS4 right in front of me. "You wanna play something?" "Sure, but how do I play?" He taught how to use a controller for at least 30 minutes until I finally got the hang of it. I checked the time and it was 5:37. "Oh Abstract I gotta go. See you tomorrow!" I said. " Okay see ya. We can walk in the morning if you'd like." "Okay cool!"
I walked home and was greeted with an empty house. No dad or nothing. I set my book bag down took out my homework. I finished it rather quickly and set it aside. I walked upstairs and opened my door. I later down and made a post on Instagram. By the time I slept, it was 8:00. No beatings, and no problems. I couldn't wait to walk with my new friends.
