MNEMOSYNE
Memosi, huh?
"Mang Ferdie, I can take it from here.
Even though nasa mid-40s na siya ay di mapagkakailang maganda siya, she may look masungit for some (or maybe she really is masungit) but I think she's just really punctilious.
Hmm, he's Chase, isn't he?
I heard a strum of guitar and a female voice singing, I turned my head to the left only to find an acoustic session happening at the other balcony.
"Hey!" narinig kong sigaw ng babaeng kumakanta kanina. The guitar and the other instruments stopped when I turned around.
Lahat ng kanilang mata ay nakatingin sakin, "Are you new here?" tanong nung babae kaya tumango lang ako.
I don't want to talk to people whom I barely know, but this girl is making me, ganto ba talaga siya?
"What's your name?" hiyaw pa niya. Her voice resonated the whole balcony, she must be a singer.
Ngumiti lang ako and I excused myself. Why would I give them my name? Having friends at the apartment would be a really good start for me but I don't want to involve myself again with opportunist human beings . . .
TOK! TOK! TOK!
Tiningnan ko ang salamin and I saw that my hair was messy, all thanks to the wind at the balcony!
I tied my hair and went to the door, there, I saw Chase standing with plates on his hands.
"Sabi daw kasi ng Mommy mo di ka marunong magluto." he continually said and his eyes roamed the room.
I can cook fried foods and pancit canton!
He scratched his nape and he looked at me gawky, "Oo nga pala, pasensya na kung medyo maliit 'tong kwarto. Halos lahat kasi okupado na."
I nodded. This room is small pa sa kanya? I think its fine for someone like me though.
"It's okay." I said hoping na he would leave my room na.
"Bukas pala, gusto mo sabay na rin tayo kumain?" he asked and it's obvious na he was anticipating for my response.
I looked down, trying to formulate an excuse para hindi ako makasama, "Well, I want to find some friends din kasi kaya baka di ako makasabay."
He smiled uneasily and just uttered 'okay'.
Chase does not look like the guy that would just ask you to eat with him so I'm inferring na maybe Tita Emily asked him to do that. Well, the food looks delicious but I'm starting to have doubts again, may lason kaya ito? Meh, I shouldn't think like that.
Inamoy ko ito, smells fine.
Kinain ko ito and I was surprised because naubos ko ito, well, I haven't had lunch, that explains why.
Pumunta ako sa bedroom ko at binuksan ko ang aking laptop as well as my pocket wifi, I hope no one hacks my wifi, may sari-sarili naman siguro kaming wifi dito sa apartment, 'di ba?
Naglog-in ako sa facebook and it feels like I haven't checked it for one year, albeit, kakacheck ko lang nito this morning. . .
Tumambad sa akin ang mga messages ng mga kaklase ko, they're asking me why I left. Kinakamusta rin nila ko, well, I would love to send a reply but I'm terrified that they would locate me. . .
Shinutdown ko na lang ang aking laptop at ginamit ang cellphone, there are 33 messages, and half of it is my Mom and Dad.
Ever since I was a kid I was really not close to the both of them, prolly because they're always busy.
I'm scared and nervous at the same time, this is my first time being independent, or, should I say this is my first time not being with my parents.
But this is for the good, right? I chose this, anyway. . .
For the greater good.
