❝We are the witches you burned at the stake; we are the women you could not destroy.❞

During the rising popularity of witch trials in the sixteenth century, the hunting of abnormal beings (or, more specifically, women) came to the city of New Orleans. Briar Bishop was one of many who were convicted of practicing the dark magic and she was burned alive at the stake - granted, she was a witch, but she did not commit the heinous crimes she was accused of. But humans could not be reasoned with; they feared power, and above of all, they feared power even more when a women wielded it so blatantly.

For centuries, she wandered the other side, planning, envisioning how she would exact her revenge on the man who sentenced her to death if she ever managed to find a way to return to the land of the living.

When a powerful witch by the name of Esther finds Briar in the afterlife and offers her a deal - life for a little helping hand in putting down her abominations of children - how can the Bishop witch say no?

After so long of waiting and seething, of imagining about nothing other than the hundreds of ways she could make him suffer for sending her to the stake, it appeared that Briar Bishop would finally be getting her revenge on Klaus Mikaelson.

( ADDITIONAL INFORMATION! )

Troian Bellisario is the face claim, but Briar is just a host in her body. The body belongs to Mallory Nicholson, who is an upbeat, positive woman. Mallory didn't know about the supernatural world, but she was in love with Marcel Gerard, who also had a thing for her. She worked as a writer, travelling from city to city to find inspiration for a good story.

Now, remember that Briar was killed in the late sixteenth century, so she's had centuries to imagine over and over again how she would exact her revenge her on Klaus. This means their relationship must be very slow burn. Klaus doesn't even know Mallory has been taken over by Briar. Don't go making him and Briar fall in love and get married by the tenth chapter; give it time and show little parts of Briar witnessing Klaus' vulnerable side and softening a little, gradually falling for him again.

Also, Klaus is indirectly the reason Briar was sent to the stake. Back when Mikael was hunting Klaus, Briar and Klaus had been in a relationship, but when Klaus got wind that his father was in the city, he fled with his siblings, leaving Briar behind. Mikael discovered his son loved Briar, so he tortured her for answers about his whereabouts, but when he figured she didn't know anything, he compelled someone to say they had witnessed her doing witchcraft and she was arrested and killed.
