"Wait what?!" Albert looked at Russo confusedly as they made their way to the kitchen area.

"You think being the bust boys of the castle means we just clean? Yeah I'm not getting paid just to clean things." Russo laughed and continued to walk down the long halls of the castle.

"Well fuck okay."

As they made their way to the kitchens Albert took notice of the many paintings that were hung up. It was of course pictures of all the kings and queens from before. At the end of the hallway was an empty frame. Under the frame was the name "King Jake."

When they arrived at the kitchen, plates of delicious foods were already laid out and ready to go.

"Take the plates, I'll set up the utensils. When I snap my fingers, come out with the dishes and please try not to drop them." Russo instructed. A rush of anxiety immediately washed over Albert.

Russo stepped out of the kitchen, utensils and napkins in hand. Albert watched through the little window in the kitchen for his signal.

Russo lay the napkins on their laps. He neatly placed the largest fork and smallest fork on the left of their plates and the small knife and spoon on the right.

"Where is Prince Jake, Sir?" Russo asked taking notice of Jake's absence.

"Oh, he's getting ready of course."

Russo nodded and snapped his fingers.

Albert immediately began to panic. He quickly placed the first set of plates on his arms and held them stable. As he began to walk out of the kitchen, everyone stared at him. His breathing became much more intense and he began trembling as he held the plates.

One by one the plates slipped from his arms, crashing to the hard wood floors. Food of all sorts of colours were splashed everywhere.

"Well don't just stand there! Clean it up!" The King demanded. Albert just stood there; shocked and confused.

Russo came at him and grabbed his arm. He pulled him into the kitchen.

"I knew I should've taken the plates. Here, take the mop and clean while I inform the chefs about this." Russo said. There was a very worried tone in his voice.

Albert did as told and began mopping up the floor while the King and Queen watched.

"Woah, what happened here?" Prince Jake asked as he came down the stairs in a baby blue suit.

"Just a little accident is all." The Queen reassured giving Albert a nasty look.

Prince Jake refused to sit down and went to grab a broom. With the broom, he began helping Albert clean up the floors.

"Jake! Get in your seat right now!" The King demanded once again.

"What do you mean? I'm helping him!" Jake retaliated.

"Sit here boy. What are you a servant?" The King retorted.

"No! I'm gonna help him. I don't want to watch someone clean a mess they didn't mean to make. He's new here and doesn't know much as yet just cut him some slack!"

"He is a servant which Russo should've trained! This is unacceptable!"

"So sorry about that Sir. Your food will be ready shortly." Russo said as he slug a napkin across his shoulder.

"I want to speak with you Russo." The King said.

Russo inhaled deeply before following the King into a different room.

"I'm sorry man I know these floors are expensive." Albert whispered as  Jake helped him clean.

"Hey, don't sweat it man. Let's just hope Russo is okay." Jake replied.

"What do you mean?" Albert asked curious of the consequences.

"Don't worry about it. Just try not to fuck up again." Jake left and returned the broom to it's rightful place. Albert also returned to the kitchen to wait for the food to be ready.

The second time bringing out plates was fine. There were no accidents but Russo seemed a little on edge and extremely agitated. He also had a slight red mark across his face which Albert chose to not question till later.

The royal family went off to sleep living the staff to hang around quietly. Albert and Russo were sitting at the table eating left overs from dinner.

"What happened in there Russo?" Albert asked.

"Don't worry about it, I'm fine." Russo lied. He was a really bad liar.

"I know you're lying." Albert replied.

"Look, when you've worked for a royal family for this long, you tend to slip up once in awhile and tonight was just one of those nights." Russo shot back.

"Then what's with the red mark?" Albert asked once more.

"He slapped me what do you think? You didn't think I wouldn't be punished for what I did?" Russo was getting a little angry at Albert's constant questioning.

"But I was the one who spilled the food. I should've been punished not you."

"I'm the one who is supposed to make sure you know what you're doing. It's my job to make sure all is right in this castle. Just forgot it now okay? Eat your food, I'm heading to bed." Russo took his plate and went to the kitchen.

Albert sighed; picking at his food. He wasn't very hungry and couldn't help but feel awful for what he did. His first day and he already fucked it up.

Well, tomorrow is always a new day.
