The mission was a success.

We caught the men who were working with Jack Monstroff.

Monstroff, himself, still managed to slip through the Shadow and Alpha Squadron's fingers.

Stephen sent the Alpha team out, on at least a dozen missions, after we got back.

Kylie messaged me telling me that their squadron had been sent out on multiple missions as well.

Stephen made out the fact that we hadn't caught Monstroff as if it didn't matter at all.

A groan emitted right next to me.

"I feel that." The high voice of Sophie commented on her brothers pained groans.

"Too many missions in a week. I know we're Elite so we have more on us, but I swear, this is too much."

A bleep sounded from the home system. Vanessa and Jackson who were sitting on spinning stools, next to the kitchen island.

A collective sigh from all of us echoes around the large white living room.

Vanessa, with her velvety voice, read the message.

We've trained a ton this month. Stephen keeps us busy lately. HELP us. -V

Jackson laughed.

"Looks like we're not the only ones who Stephen has working their asses off lately."

"Looks like the boss is trying to get everyone who worked the Monstroff case to work just hard enough that we forget who we were actually trying to catch." Charlie, the 20 year old assassin who never spoke, the Levi of the group, deducted.

"Ah... He might be right." Ze mumbled.

"Nice catch Charlie." I said, grinning slightly.

Bleep.

Jackson read it this time,

B had an idea. Setting it up now. Fingers crossed it works. -LEVI

"What's the idea?" Vanessa asked.

"Knowing Brennan, it's gonna be very dramatic."

My grin slowly got bigger.

......

His back hit the padded mat with a heavy thud.

"Go again."

Ze grumbled under his breath.

"What was that?"

"You're literally unbeatable. Why are we doing this?" HIs deep voice tilted up at the end in a whine.

A laugh bubbled out of my throat before I could stop it.

Ze lunged.

I dodged and flipped him over.

"Can anyone -" He took a deep breath. "-Can anyone beat you?"

A grimace of a smile made its way onto my face.

"Brennan could."

Ze jumped up from the thick blue mat.

"How'd that go anyways?" His fist flew forward.

"Good."

My forearm flew up and blocked his fist.

Ze's other arm swung toward my head.

Hair flew in my face as I ducked. I kicked my leg out to sweep Ze off his feet. As his legs left the floor, he flipped.

"Just good?" He questioned as he landed.
