Class 1-B's Ace

A Power Passed On

Decided to have Endeavor be the "villain" to show up. It gave Cry his chance to face off against him since he really wouldn't have any other chance in arcs to come. Still trying to decide on what to do after this season, and with at least two more chapters to go, I need to think fast. I've been thinking long and hard about the events that will occur in this chapter, hopefully they turn out ok. Enjoy!

That night, we all returned to our dorm victorious from the exam. Everyone now had their own provisional license, we could act as real heroes now. We all decided to celebrate with a party. Tsuburaba put up a ping pong table while Tokage set up some music. Even Mr. Kan joined in on the fun as he was amazed with how well we had done today. Kendo came over to me so we could talk. "And here I thought you called me the brave one. But what you did during the exam, now that was brave. You took on Endeavor himself and somewhat managed to hold your ground." She said as she handed me a glass of water. "Thanks Kendo, but I was just doing what I do best. It wasn't really challenging him, more so protecting the people that he was threatening to hurt. Even though he nearly beat me, I stayed strong and made sure everyone by me was protected." I said as I smiled. "So what you said to me really was true then." She said to me but I only looked confused. "You did say that you'd always be there to protect me, and you showed that by not only protecting me but everyone else in the stadium today. You gave everyone time to rescue the injured and combat the other villains. You're a hero in my books." She said as she lightly punched my arm. "Thanks Kendo." I said as we headed over to the ping pong table. "It's been a year or two since I last played but what do you say Kendo? Care to take me on?" I asked her as she nodded. 

A few hours later, everyone was exhausted and we all headed off to bed. I was the only one left in the common room, I was cleaning up some of the mess. I finished and went to the elevator so I could go and sleep. Mr. Kan retired to his bed fairly early, he was out like a light. As I hit the switch for the elevator to take me to the fourth floor, I heard an explosion occur outside. I didn't know what caused it but I knew that it could possibly be something extremely dangerous. I had my license in hand, I took off out the front door and heard more explosions. They were coming from battlegrounds beta. I didn't know what was going on but I had to find out soon. It could've been villains who have sneaked in and are trying to wreck UA's training grounds. I ran as fast as I could to the area. 

As I continued down the path to battlegrounds beta, I was suddenly stopped by a familiar face. It was All Might, in his normal, skeleton form. "All Might, what are you doing here?" I asked him. He responded and said "Probably the same thing that you're doing. Where's your teacher? There's a curfew you know." He asked me. "Yes I know there is. Mr. Kan is asleep, and I was the only one awake. I was cleaning up after a party my class had. Do you know what's happening over there?" I asked him as he let out a sigh. "I believe I do. It's nothing to be worried about. I would say to you to return to your dorm, but if what's happening over there is what I think it is, then I do think you should come with me. You deserve to know the truth too. And I promise you won't get in trouble for breaking curfew." He said as I joined him and we continued on our way to battlegrounds beta. 

When we arrived, there was another explosion. It happened in the air and it sent something hurdling into the ground. When the smoke cleared, we could see that it was Midoriya and Bakugou. Bakugou was on top of Midoriya, pinning his limbs to the ground. They must've been fighting, but why? I could hear them talking to each other. "That's it, we're done here. I won. You have All Might's power , but even using his strength and making it your own, somehow you still managed to lose to me. Why? How could you lose?" Bakugou said to Midoriya. What Bakugou said shocked me, how could Midoriya have All Might's power. Before I could continue to think about it though, All Might stepped in to break up their fight. "Both of you stop this right now." He said as they both looked at All Might and me. "I'm sorry, but i've heard what you've said. I didn't notice before, I should have." All Might said as Bakugou got off of Midoriya. "It's too late now. Why did you pick Deku, All Might?" Bakugou asked him. "It started when I was attacked by the sludge villain, didn't it? So why him?" Bakugou added. All Might then answered him and said "He was powerless, but still more heroic than anyone else. I knew you were strong, that much was obvious, you were someone who could already fight. So I decided that he should have a chance to stand in the ring as well." All Might explained. "But now you know that i'm weak too. I always wanted to be like you which meant being as strong as possible. But look what I did to you and Cry, because i'm not good enough." Bakugou said with his head down in shame. All Might then walked over to him and spoke again. "This is not your fault Young Bakugou, I was always going to lose my power. You couldn't do anything to change that. You are strong, but I focused more on your physical strength and overlooked what was important." He said as he took Bakugou's head and put it on his chest. He then continued to speak with Bakugou. "This is not your burden. I'm sorry, sometimes I forget that you are children." He said as Bakugou pushed himslef away and began to cry. All Might continued though, "After being a hero for so many years you learn a few things, striving to be the best like you young Bakugou, and caring deeply about people, about rescuing those in trouble like you young Midoriya and Cry. All of those feelings are necessary in a hero, otherwise they will never truly be able to represent justice. That's why you admire Bakugou's strength so much young Midoriya. And I know that's why you feared his heart and spirit Bakugou. But now that you've laid your feelings to each other out on the table, maybe you can finally understand each other. If you have mutual respect and focus on making one another stronger, i've no doubt that you'll become the ultimate heroes, winning and saving people at the same time." All Might explained as both Bakugou and Midoriya looked at each other. Bakugou then sat down and spoke back to All Might. "That's not what I wanted to hear. " He then began to talk to Midoriya. "You had the strongest guy in the world lay down the groundwork for you, don't you dare lose again." He said as he put his head down again. Midoriya then replied to what Bakugou said to him. "I'll work harder, so that one day, I can beat you." 

Bakugou raised his head back up and faced All Might. "Ok, so who knows about you two?" He asked him. All Might didn't hesitate to give him the answer. "Recovery Girl and the principal. But, as far as students go, only you and young Cry. I felt he deserved to know the truth as well after everything that's happened to him. And I know that he is capable of keeping this secret." He explained as Bakugou started up again. "And you don't want any of this to get out because it would end bad. Don't worry, your secret's safe with me." Bakugou said as I also gave my response. "Don't worry, no one will get it out of me. I'll die before I tell anyone your secret." I said as All Might smiled to me. All Might then spoke to all of us, "I don't deserve this. I should be on my hands and knees, begging you to keep this a secret for me. Yet here you all are, being considerate and helping me out. Thank you." He said as Bakugou stood back up and began to talk again. "I'm not doing this for you. It would just be a real pain if this got out and messed stuff up." Bakugou said as he turned to face both me and Bakugou. "Now that its come to this, I can explain what's happened between me and young Midoriya. It's only fair." All Might said. 

And so, All Might told me and Bakugou the whole backstory, about a power passed down through generations in order to be used against great evil. About how he used that power to become the symbol of peace. How he was gravely injured, which limited his strength. And finally, how he chose his successor. "If this were to get out, people would become confused and start wondering where the power is now." I said as Bakugou interrupted me and spoke to Midoriya as we all walked back to the dorms. "You idiot, what were you thinking when you first told me about it?" Bakugou asked him. Before Midoriya could give an answer, All might began to speak to us again. "It was my own choice to use up the last of my abilities. I said this earlier but... that was in no way your fault." He said looking at me and Bakugou. Bakugou then spoke up, "It doesn't change what I have to do." He said wiping a tear from his eye. All Might then looked back to him again and spoke, "True, you're right about that." Bakugou then looked to Midoriya, "Things aren't going to be the same Deku, you got that? You've been watching me and everyone around you, absorbing what you see to get stronger. Well I can do the exact same thing and keep getting better myself. I'll go higher than even you, chosen one." He declared as Midoriya looked back at him. "Right, and I guess i'll just have to be better than that! I have to go higher than you!" midoriya said to Bakugou that seemed to piss him off. Bakugou then screamed out a Midoriya, "Damn it nerd, I just said I was going to be the one to surpass you!" Me and All Might could only smile from their discussion. All Might then looked to me, talking but only enough for me to hear. "They've become proper rivals now. In a way that they weren't before. Tell me young Cry, do you believe you are part of this rivalry?" All Might asked me. I didn't know how to answer his question. "I'm not entirely sure yet sir. It's true that they are both competition now to be the next greatest hero, but i've fallen behind. Like Midoriya, i'm always evolving, gaining new abilities, trying to master them and make them my own. So for now, until I master them, I have to say i'm not one of their rivals. I'm just the number three." I said to him as we returned to the dorms. I waved goodbye to the three of them, thinking to myself "I hope Bakugou and Midoriya are alright after this. I'm sure Aizawa will give them hell for fighting." I then entered my dorm and retired to my bed for the night, only thinking about the All Might and the power that is, One for All.
