The nights I dread the most

These are the nights I dread the most,

Where I wish you were here with me.

In my dark room only illuminated by nearby candle light

Instead of miles away,

Talking through a little phone.

These are the nights I dread the most,

I no longer have you

I no longer will have your kisses, the feelings of our bodies against each other,

Or the way you would mimic my heartbeat

"Thump, thump, thump" you would say.

These are the nights I dread the most,

For I have lost you,

And I'll never get you back

The past are the nights I long for,

To warn myself of what the future has to hold,

To make the most out of every visit, every laugh, every kiss.

Because I lost you and I'm here alone
