There are days when I look in the mirror

And see the person that I have become.

I don't know this person

What exactly have I become?

I am weak,

Broken even,

But I can't show that

Not now, not ever.

People expect me to be strong

To just keep moving on.

But I've lost my way,

I don't know when.

Maybe when I lost you.

Maybe before then.

I take a step back,

To look at this stranger

Its time to be me again,

Not what others expect me to be

Society has a way

Of controlling who we are

They say skinny is beautiful

And anything less is ugly.

All of us are different,

We don't need to pretend.

If you've lost your way

I'm here with you.

Take my hand,

And together we will go

On the path of happiness

And to a world where

We can be who we really are

So what do you say?

Are you willing to go?

Take a chance to be different

And let everyone know.

That its okay to be plus sized

Gay, straight, black or blue

We are all our own person

That's something that shouldn't be new

So stop looking in the mirror

Stop looking at the person you don't know

Get back the real you

The one the world should know

Forget the labels,

Be you and you'll be happy

Just always remember one thing:

Society will always label us,

Be you

Be true

Fuck the haters
