"We finally graduated".My best friend gauri said as we were walking towards my car."stupid college.
I sighed nodding slowly.
Don't get me wrong I was as excited as her. But My parents have an announcement and I don't know why but I'm so worried. My father has a serious look on his face.Maybe something happened to my sister, Mallika.
I scoffed my self. If that was the case, they would have told me immediately.
But it looked important and I have no idea about it.
"I know right. No more stupid high school teenagers and stupid teachers."Mira, My other best friend said smiling.
When I didn't said anything. She turned to me frowning. I was always the one to back her up when she was talking about how she hated high school.
Gauri, on the other hand , loved high school , for some weird reasons.
"Anika, what's wrong? Aren't you excited? ".Mira said taking my hands in her and jumping up and down. I chuckled. "Off course I'm".I said laughing at her behaviour. " I was just thinking ".
She always been the crazy one . Our spitfire.
"You're thinking about what your parents have to tell you . Don't worry if it doesn't kill you then everything's fine.plus there's the party tonight ". Gauri said smiling at me.
My father and gauri's father has been working together and are friends for years now.so we have been friends since.
And tonight there is a party where I have to go with my parents and gauri will be there with too hers.
Mira's father is a lawyer and her mother is a stylist so thay are not involved in that kind of events. Fortunately for her. Those events can be boring at some times.
"Yeah. I'll see you tonight then".I said hugging both of them and heading to my car as they did the same.
"Enjoy you're boring night while I get drunk at Mahir's party".she yelled making me laugh.
I got in my car & went home.

The first thing I heard walking in the house was my parent's voices. I made my way to the living room and saw them both there , and there conversation stopped as soon as they spotted me.
Naina , was my step mother , but she has been just like my real mom to me and my sister.And she never tried taking anything to my father or us forget about our mother.
She even put a big portrait of my mom in the living room .
My dad married her 6 years ago, 2 years after my mother's death. He really wanted us to grow with a mother.
And he really choose the perfect women.She always respect my mother's memory.We love her and she makes dad happy so I'm completely fine with it.
Mallika is my old sister .she got married a year ago. She was 26. My parents choose the man for her and got her married.
Unfortunately that's how their business works.Her husband, siddhart, is a really good man. Mallika was so against. I remember her locking herself in her room for days only letting mom in .
She was never forced though. It was a proposition she could have refused eventually. But after talking to sid, once or twice.she suddenly had that crush on him.we have been teasing her about it for weeks before her wedding.
But she's happy now.
She hated his guts so much. And when she told me how much she loved him a couple of months ago. To say I was shocked would be an understatement.
Everyone was shocked including my parents .
"Anika , we were just waiting for you baby". I heard mom saying from living room. I took a seat next to my dad.
"How was ur day, princess? We r proud of you. Finally you are graduated. "My dad said smiling at me . I look at mom to see her smiling at me too. I got up and went to kiss her cheek. " I'm going in my room, I'm seriously tired". I said leaving.
"Honey, its 5 and we r leaving at 8 so be ready on time".she says referring to the party.
"Yeah".I said heading to my room.i decided to take a nap before starting getting ready. I wake up after 2 hours and found out the it was 7 and I need to get ready by 8.
I undress myself after once I got into the bathroom and got into the shower. Mallika di , moved to paris when she married sid jiju and it's been weeks since the last time she came to visit us . I miss her so much. But we talked to each other whenever we can.
Once I was done with shower. I went to my room and saw my dress in the bed. It must be mom who put it there.
I started doing my hairs ,then my makeup.I finished by applying a lip gloss. Then put my gown on. It was a red gown. It hugged my body and was backless, but covered my chest.

I looked at my phone and saw it was almost 8 so I went downstairs. My parents were already there.
"Oh my god , anika you look gorgeous." Mom gasped hugging me.
"He will fall head over hells for you." she said .
He? I looked at her confused as my dad cleared his throat. I heard her muttering something before smiling towards me.
"I mean all the people there will completely love it ". She said nervously. And I just knew that something was up . I just had to find out what.
And fast.
I smile thanking her then we headed out of our house . I texted gauri telling her I just left my house.
