As if he said that! Cam! I always thought he was nice, but no. He told them that I said to 'never let go' and all that bull shit! I didn't say that!
What does he matter to me anyways? He was always just a partner in school, it's not as if he was actually a friend but if he was, I would totally-
"Honey are you okay?" My mom opened the door quietly and said.
"Yes, I'm fine mum!"
"Are you sure because you stormed in pretty loudly last night after school and I thought I would leave you for the night. But if you want to talk about it, I have breakfast ready downstairs, okay?" My mom said gently.
"Okay, thanks." I said then turned over on my side. Hearing the door click shut, I breathed out quickly. Feeling guilty for not telling my mom, I opened the door and went down stairs. "Mom, remember the guy I told you I liked? The tall blonde..?" I said coming around the corner into my kitchen.
"Cam?"
"Yeah him.. Well.. We kind of bumped into each other in school-"
"Oh my godness, you guys kissed!" she said in a louder tone, sounding like a teenaged girl.
"No.. I was coming out of the bathroom and I accidentally ran into him. When I hit him, I fell and then he helped me up, but he never let go of my hand.. Then he was acting all nice, then when he realized that people were looking he literally, shook my hand off then said "watch where you're going train wreck.""
"Oh honey.. They still call you that?"
"Mom!! That's not the issue!" I said throwing my hands in the air. As if that's what she's worried about. Not that her daughter got completely embarrassed at school.
"Sorry.. What's the point of this story? Why did you storm in last night then?"
"'Cause when I was walking home, a bunch of this friends drove by and yelled that I said "Cam, never let go." and stuff like that."
"Guys can be jerks. But you have to live with it, darling," she walked over and grabbed on of my hands gently and put her other onto mine, "sometimes, they tell their friends different things so they seem more tough, and you just have to live with it. You got to be the bigger person sometimes and ignore it. And if you ignore him, he will realize that he made a mistake and he is missing out on what a great person you truly are." she said soothingly. Breathing out heavily, she let go of my hand giving me a half smile. "And, time for breakfast." Talking to my mom always made things better.
After breakfast, I grabbed my phone and headphones from my room, "Hey mom!," I yelled while coming down the stairs, "I'm goin' for a run. Be back soon." Feeling the warm air hit my skin, I breathed it in and smiled.
After stretching for about 10 minutes, I was off running. Putting my headphones in, filling my head with music. Turning my music up all the way, blasting Sleepwalking by Bring Me The Horizon, knowing people would be able to hear it while I ran by.
....
Seeing my house come into view, I ran faster to get home quicker. Ignoring the signals my body was giving me, my sides burning and legs aching, I sprinted.
Running up the stairs to my house, I throw open the door, slam it, then fall against it.
"Hey Trin! How was your run?,"My mom asked while coming over to the door with a bottle of water, "here, because I know you'll be thirsty." I look up and smile and grabbed the water."My run was fine mum, thanks for the water." Opening the bottle and getting up, I started going up to my room taking small sips.
When finally reaching my room, I grab my towel from the back of my door and walk across the hallway to my bathroom. I shut the door behind me and turn on the shower. Taking off my shorts and tank top, I open the curtain and I can feel the hot steam on my body from the shower water. Feeling relief, I step in.
