First Hand Disaster

Part 1-Shooting

Anna's POV

Hi. My name ia Anna and I'm 14. 8th grade. Right now all of us (me and my classmates cause we are in school) are hiding in the closet with the door locked. Why? Because our school is on lockdown.

I haven't heard sirens so nobody has called 911 yet. Thank god all of the doors in this place have deadbolts on them. I can hear footsteps coming down the hallway.

Oh crap, I think someone forgot to lock the door cause somebody just walked in. All of us in the closet can tell because we can hear their breathing. Its thick, deep, and uneven. God, please don't let them come to the closet.

That's when it happened. We all heard shots fired. I don't know in which direction but I hope it was up. Ms. Carter got up and opened up the door just enough to slip through. I could heard them talking.

"Why are you doing this?" Ms. Carter muttered. We all waited for someone to say something.

"Cause it's fun." The shooter said back.

Everyone was waiting for something to happen. We were all silent. Then we all heard 3 more shots fired. A scream of pain and despiration. I could hear the loud and heavy footsteps leaving the room. I motioned for everyone to stay where they were until I came back.

I wast prepared for the sight in front of me. There lay Ms. Carter. A pool of blood surrounded her. She was silently crying. That's when I heard it. Sirens. Finally.

It wasn't to long after that. Soon enough we were all in the parking lot waiting for our parents. In the meantime, I was wandering around searching for my best friend, Dani.

There was a list of kids that were missing or at the hospital. I was so tempted to look at the list but I didn't want to just yet.

After about half an hour, I caved. I went to go look at the list. I scanned through the list in search of the name. And that's when I saw it. At the end of the list.
