Pale fingers buried themselves in inky black fur, hidden under the shadows under Kyoya's visitor table in the Host Clubroom. Curled up around the base of the furniture lay a sleek, black german shepherd who's left front leg was made entirely of titanium, as was her teeth. Kero, that was the dog's name, was loyally staying by her master, Kyoya's side, hidden in the shadows, like always. The ex-military dog had stealthily accompanied Kyoya at Ouran Highschool countless times, always undetected though that would change soon.
Kero let out a quiet grumble as she observed women flirt with her master as he stood across the room. Despite being a dog, she was an incredibly possessive and jealous girl who wanted her master to belong to her and no one else. A dirty-blond fifteen-year-old, Renge, pounced on her master and jealousy ravaged the dog's system, making it very difficult for her to remain undetected in her hiding spot. Golden amber eyes darkened with hatred as they tracked the pest of a woman, it was going to be a long day.
The next day, Kero had to endure another day around that annoyance named Renge. She followed her master in the shadows, quietly chewing on a high-quality bone chew that he had graciously bought her. All was well, well as good as it could get all things considered, until two angry teens, who were accused of being bad guys, lashed out and pushed Renge into the camera equipment. Despite her hatred that Kero had towards Renge, she knew that Kyoya would be angry if his client got hurt, so she made a split-second decision.
Before Haruhi could come to the rescue and protect Renge, Kero jumped from her hiding spot, sprinted over, and jumped onto the blonde, knocking her down so that she stood over her, protecting her from harm as sharp and heavy equipment fell atop them. Once Renge was safe, Kero got off of her and stumbled on the ground before collapsing, groaning in pain. Everyone was confused as they saw the large, wolf-sized dog fall and Kyoya rushing off to the dog's aid. Haruhi distractedly lectured Renge as they stared at the concerned Ootori, who was on the phone with the vet, petting the dog, and muttering reassuring words to her. Everything else became a blur as Kero lost consciousness.
