Defying Fate

Chapter One: Madeline

I was sound asleep until I heard screaming. My eyes shot wide open and I saw the maids quickly enter my room. I sat up.

"Princess, Please stay here" they said closing the door.

"MADS, MADS" I heard his voice. That was Alexander. I quickly got up and ran to the door.  

"Out of my way!" I screamed trying to open the doors.

"No please Princess."
"What is going on!" I yelled. I looked at my maids.

"I Command you!" I yell again.

"The king knows your highness about you and Alexander" she says, I look at all of them scared. I could feel my heart drop. My father knew I was sneaking around with the guard.

"Let me out." I firmly say.

"Kings orders." Regina says , she was my high maid. She backed away a little.

"I am your Princess, You obey ME" I scream. The other two maids open the doors. Regina and the girls stay in my room as I ran to the front of the castle. I make it to the stairs that lead to the wide opening to the doors. I stop at the top and watch as my father stands in front of Alexander. Two other guards are holding him down.

"YOU DARE DISRESPECT THIS FAMILY" My father yells.

"Alexander!" I yell as I run down the steps, My father turns and tells the guards to hold me back.

"He is not your soulmate Madeline ! " he shouts,

"I LOVE HIM" I cry out trying to escape the grip of the guards. 

"He already has a soulmate!" My father grabs Alexander's arm and shows me his symbol on his wrist. Fate says that once you meet your soulmate a small symbol appears on your writs. My eyes filled with tears. His right hand, a healer , stands next to my father.

"Exilium"  he shouts, he closed his eyes and I see a ball of light form in his hand.

"What are you doing!" I try harder to get out of their grip,

He touches Alexanders forehead, it was as if everything was going in slow motion. I couldn't stop it, his eyes turned into light, his skin started to glow. It was like an explosion but without the loud boom. I screamed as I saw the love of my life vanish.

The guards let me go. I fell to my knees as cried, my father tries to pick me up but I push him away.

"It was for your own good." He softly says, I shake my head and see the castle doors wide open. I don't think twice and run.

I can hears the yelling as I keep running, I don't stop until I reach the old apple tree that I climbed as a child. I quickly climb up and hop over the gate of the castle. I jump down landing on wet muddy grass. And just keep running.

After an hour of crying in the old tree house in the woods, I stopped. I had no voice and my eyes burning. I looked out into the woods, the silence took over. I curled up bringing my knees up to my chest. The heartbreak was unbearable. If my future was already written why was Alexander apart of my story. If he was not my soulmate why did the universe punish me.

Out of the corner of my eye a glowing objected caught my attention. Out in the woods I could see the light grow. I knew fairies existed but they never went out this far from the kingdom. I ducked down near the window of the tree house. The light came closer and grew brighter. Suddenly I feel a gush of wind fly threw the window. A cloud forms from the floor. I crawl back to a corner frighten.

A figure starts to form and grows tall. I stare as once a dark cloud forms into the kingdoms Witch. I opened my mouth to scream and with a quick hand motion the witch made, no sound came out of my mouth. I pushed myself against the wall and tried to scream but no sound came out.

"Is that how you greet your aunt?" She smiles stepping into the moon light. Her brown curly hair cascaded down the side of her shoulder, her eyes once red turned light brown. She didn't look much older than me. I scratched my throat as no sound came out.

"If I give you you're voice back you have to promise to scream sweetie, guards are still lurking." She smirked. I looked out the window and saw flashlight beaming through the trees. I nod looking at her.

"Dico"  She whispers and her hand making a small motion.

A giant gasp leaves my mouth. I look at her, my aunt? Did she say she was my aunt?

"I-"

"Yes, dear you heard me I am you aunt, mothers sister." She smiles as the dark cloud forms a chair and she sits in it.

"I don't know why you and your mother loved this tree house its horrid" she says waving her hand around. I still look at her in disbelief.

"You can't be my aunt. You are wi-"

"Witch? Well so was your mother, well a healer your grandma didn't want to corrupt your mother" She perches her lips, and looks me in the eye.

"But your mother, just like you, was a rebel."
"My father never-"

"He hates me, he accepted your mother one: because that was his soulmate, two: he didn't know she practiced dark magic and three, he fell in love." She leans back.

"Prove it." I say, this witch wants something from me. I know it.

"Exsto" she says, in her hand appears a book.

" This was your mothers spell book, everything she knew about being a queen and witch is in here. She was powerful Madeline, she was more powerful than any witch in this kingdom. If you want the truth take the book" she says, 

I stare at her, than at the book. She was lying there was no way they would hide this from me. Than again my father just exploded the love of my life. I hear the guards getting closer.

"I think she's up in the tree house !" I hear my father and panic. I look at her.

"I don't even know your name. How can I trust you aren't lying. "

"My name is Oddett " She smirks

"But you can call me aunt." She hands me the book, I can hear the guards at the bottom of the tree. I look at her.

"Evanescet" she whispers and In a blink of an eye she's gone. The tree house doors open and in comes my father I hide the book behind me as he stares.

"Madeline."

Hello fellow readers ! I am continuing this story I would love some feedback!

I do not know which actor is playing what FICTIONAL CHARACTER in the book yet but I will by the next chapter !

Suggestions are welcome before and after I choose them.

Also the "spells" in this book are words translated by google in latin ! I will add this disclaimer to the very first chapter as well, and If you guys want I can add a key at the end or beginning of the chapters to what the words mean.
