"Hello Ella. How are you?" She asked
"Hi Nessie. I'm pretty good. I have a new member here" she looks down at me, smiling "This is Kayda. She's a dragon...well half dragon, half human. " she giggles
Nessie looks down at my hands and noticed it has shiny, glossy scales all around it. She welcomes me with open arms and smiles.
"Welcome Kayda. I'm Nessie, but at my house you call me mom."
I knew I wasn't ready to call another woman mom. Something inside of me wouldn't feel right, so I nod my head.
"Have fun Kayda. I'll come back soon to see how you're doing." Ella says then flies away
Nessie shows me her kids and introduced them one by one "This is Echinda, my oldest daughter. This is Elliot, my son and Luna, my youngest daughter. Everyone this is Kayda."
"Hi Kayda." Luna says sweetly
Elliot waves and so does Echinda. I wave back while Nessie took me upstairs to show me an empty room with just a bed and an empty drawer.
I look around the room and set my backpack down on the skinny bed. Nessie smiled and watched as I slightly smiled at her.
"Thank you." I say "It's lovely."
"You're welcome sweetheart. I'll get dinner started, what do you like to eat?"
"Fish."
Nessie nods her head and walked downstairs to the kitchen. I take my shoes off and feel the cold stone touch my feet then I make my way to the mirror and looked at myself all dirty from hiding.
Elliot, Luna and Echinda all came inside my room and looked at me. Echinda looked in the mirror with me. She has blue eyes, blue hair and she's pretty strong for her body type.
"So tell us about yourself." She said
I walked over to the bed and sat down in between Elliott and Luna. "I was born in a village where the people hated anyone who didn't look like each other."
"So how did you make it out of there?" Elliot asked
"I....I....I don't want to talk about it." I said quickly then I changed the subject "So how old are you guys? What kind of powers do you have?"
"I'm 16. Luna is only 3 and Elliot is 5. Their powers haven't came yet but my power is putting mortal humans to sleep or to slow them down." Echinda said "What about you?"
"I'm only four. I don't think my powers came in yet either. But then again, some power do come a little early"
Echinda smirks and crossed her arms
"You're pretty smart for a four year old."
I shrugged and smiled a little then we hear Nessie calling us for dinner. Elliot, Echinda and Luna all went downstairs into the dining room while I stayed behind, looking down at my hands.
"Kayda! Your dinners getting cold sweetie." Nessie shouted
"Um...coming!"
I walked out the room and made my way to the dining room where an empty spot was available. Soon after sitting down, I looked at the food and ate a couple of bites.
"So Kayda, it's nice to see you getting along with the kids nicely." Nessie says "I was getting worried that you were never gonna talk to them, or anyone for that matter."
I didn't say much to the statement that she made, so I kept quiet. She then goes on about how her day while they were in school. So far from learning about her, she's very talkative and so are her kids.
During the conversation, the front door opens and a man walks in and closes it.
