Society

She had wings,
And so she flew,
Above the pain,
Above the sorrow,
Above the torture the world had offered,

They were black,
She dove in the clouds,
She soared to the sun,
She felt the wind,
She breathed the breeze,

They were big,
Above the storms,
Rain and snow,
Sleet and hail,
She flew above it all,

They were taken,
One day she flew,
To someplace new,
With strange people,
With scared people,

And now she's broken,
They captured her spirit,
They took her wings,
They made her their own,
And then they cast her out,

So give them back,
They changed her,
They broke her,
They judged her,
They are the reason she can't fly,

Society broke her,
She begs,
She pleads,
She's on her knees,
Surrounded by her shattered dreams,

Society,

Breaks,

Everyone,

No,

Matter,

How,

High,

They,

Fly.
