Their words went back and forth as Thomas finished his drawing, and the pizzas finally arrived. Expecting something that looked like it had just come out of a box, frozen, Ella was surprised to see with her own eyes that the images they posted online were accurate. On the two metal pans were pizzas that appeared to be crafted with love and entirely handmade. To put her emotions into words, they were beautiful, and dare she say she almost took a photo of them like the many people on social media.
Upon, picking up one of the slices, her eyes ogled it, manifesting a taste in her mouth before her taste buds had even made contact. The cheese was perfectly cooked and gooey as it hung off the sides. The crust was baked to perfection and had a slight crunch to it. Then her body was filled with waves of euphoria as soon as it hit her tongue. The taste that filled her body was utter bliss and she couldn't chew fast enough, while at the same time, her taste buds did their best to savour every flavour. Soon her nerves were craving it; it was heaven as she let out a pleasurable moan. Apparently, she hadn't realized how loud she was as she heard Allison snicker from across the table. Opening her eyes that Ella didn't realize she had closed, she looked at Allison and felt her cheeks get hot. Opposite her, Alli had a sly smirk on her face as she continued to chew her slice while Thomas had yet to notice altogether.
"Are you enjoying the pizza?" Allison asked, and Thomas replied, not giving Ella a chance.
"It's awesome, like always, Mom. Best pizza I ever had." Is what Ella interpreted him saying as small remains of food hopped out from his mouth.
"Thomas, remember to chew with your mouth closed, especially when we're out in public," Allison said.
"Sorry." He whispered, but he didn't seem influenced by her comment as he continued to eat the same way.
Watching her interact with the boy was rather intimate, but inevitably, Ella knew the question she had asked prior wasn't directed at Thomas. It was meant for Ella. Allison's head started to turn again as her eyes locked with her. The playful smile had returned to her face as well.
"And what about you, El? It sounds like you're enjoying it over there." She joked.
"Yeah, I'm actually surprised that a pizza in a children's play place could be so good. Too bad you need to be here with a kid, or else it just looks weird," Ella replied, causing Allison's smile to grow wider.
"True, but y'know, you can always take Thomas and me out for dinner again whenever you want. I'm sure he wouldn't argue." Allison mentioned as they both turned to Thomas, who was practically inhaling his slices of pizza.
"Yeah, maybe I will, or maybe you and I can go out one night." Ella heard herself saying and couldn't believe that she had come back to the whole relationship thing. Her subconscious was trying to embarrass her every chance it got.
At least, that was Ella's thinking as Allison finished the slice of pizza and used the napkin to wipe the grease off her fingers. Allison's eyes scanned Ella, but it was different this time as she ended up smiling. Ella's mind was begging to hear Allison's thoughts and deciphered what she was thinking. Yet as she thought this, she blankly stared at Allison, who seemed to be considering her offer, and then her words confirmed it.
"Well, Thomas is back in school on Monday. Maybe we can do something then. I guess that's the perk of having your own business, eh." Allison said as her words infiltrated Ella's ears and attacked her heart, causing it to nearly force its way out of her chest.
"Really? I mean, that'd be awesome, not that I don't like spending time with you, Thomas." Ella remarked, but her words didn't interest the boy as he continued to put himself into a pizza coma.
