All worlds are but glazed portals peering into each other; whether they are higher or lower is irrelevant. My world reflects yours through a mirror filled with smoke; neither side can see the other clearly.
That is why when people fall through the cracks of one world into another, they tend not to notice until it is too late. In this case, learning to recognize that it is the little differences which count more than the large ones is vital. For, the big differences may just show a changing world, while the small changes show strange irregularities that would make no sense in one world, but perfect sense in another - these are the ones that should worry mortals. It's too bad they refuse to see anything outside of the tunnels they've dug themselves into.
