~first love~ CHAPTER 4 "alone" lukes POV
caleb left me in the hospital room with annie still laying there. i walked back over to her and grabbed her hand. "im sorry this all happened to you." i said out loud while looking at her. i pulled up her hand and kissed it softly. "i know it's weird for me to show my feelings about girls and you know that" i confessed knowing she can't hear me. i put a hand on her face and just looked at her "but i really like you annie" my voice broke "i can't lose you now" "stay here and be mine" a tear rolled down my cheek and hit her hand. i wiped it off her hand and gently put her hand back down on the bed then wiped my eyes. i sat in a chair relived but worried waiting for caleb to come back in the room.
*later that day*
caleb came back into the room and annie got more medicine. she started to wake up and move a bit. i looked at her concerned moving my hand closer to hers. she looked at me like she could cry "where am i?" her voice shaky. "you're in the hospital annie" i said. she turned away and sighed moving her hand closer to mine. i grabbed it and she looked down at our hands then at me "at least i have you here with me" she said with a little smile. i smiled back "im happy to be here with you" caleb was watching us but he knew annie needed me right now and it was true she really did need me. caleb turned away to talk to the doctor and annie started to fall back to sleep i quickly kissed her cheek "sleep well anns" i whispered. she smiled and fell asleep holding my hand. i sat back in the chair still holding her hand happy about what i just did waiting for her to wake up again.
