So apparently on the set of Mamma Mia! it is tradition to have a huge celebration on your birthday so I was really excited for my birthday to see what surprises would come in store.
Just a week before my birthday, we filmed our 'could have been in the movie' scenes, all of us struggling not to cringe as we rewatched it.
"Oh my god. My face!" Erin laughed.
"I can't. I can't watch this anymore!" I exclaimed, throwing myself onto our sofa. "It's too cringey! It's too much!"
Here's how it went:
Hey girls! - Donna (shyly)
Hiya - Rosie and Tanya (eagerly)
I uh, have something to tell you. - Donna (hesitantly)
What? - Rosie
I uh I'm pregnant. - Donna (slowly)
Oh my god Donna! Why didn't you tell us? - Tanya
I was scared. - Donna (reluctantly)
Well you'll still be able to do Donna and the Dynamos right?- Rosie
Yeah!- Donna
For one night- Tanya
And one night only- Tanya and Rosie
Dynamos, Dynamite, sleep all day and whoop all night! - all (burst into heaps of giggles)
Leo set to edit the video in his flat whilst we sat watching some movies.
"You two really do love Lily James." Sienna laughed, as we watched Wrath of Titans for the 5th time. I looked at the time. 00:00.
"Hey girls, it's midnight. We might wanna get some sleep." I said, grabbing my blanket and trekking to my bed. We slept soundly and woke up fresh and early in the morning.
A week later, on my birthday, I woke up to the usual birthday suprise. Everyone was hidden, I knew it because we did it on the other cast members' birthdays. Erin was in a cupboard, Sienna was under a table. The usual crazy fiasco.
I got up and changed into some casual clothes. I pretended it was a normal day. Then Lily came up behind me.
"Hello birthday girl!" She exclaimed, hugging me from behind.
"Hello Miss James." I replied, joking about.
We joked about as we walked down the stairs, sometimes pushing each other into the walls, sometimes just laughing about random things.
As we arrived on set a new girl came up to us.
"Hi! I'm Jefrina!" She said. I recognised her from school.
"Yeah I know! It's me Brooke!" I said. "Sienna's around here somewhere."
"Sienna's here too?" She exclaimed.
"Ya! Oh Here she comes!"
"Hi Sienna!"
"Oh my god! Hi Jefrina!" Sienna said, walking towards us. "We got a few new people on the cast. We have Yasmine, Elise, Kiaya and Courtney from school and Meghan-May from the USA!"
Kiaya came round the corner. I ran over to her.
"Kiaya! The Norris Nuts are here!" I exclaimed. "I met them yesterday. "
"I know I watched their YouTube video." She replied, hugging me. Me as the awkward person I am, started singing,
"It's my birthday, it's my birthday, I must spend my money! Pretty lady, pretty lady, you shall be my honey! Mamacita Mamacita! Pretty Lady Honey."
Everyone laughed and we arrived on set. I was so ecstatic to have all my friends in the movie.
"This is literally the best day I could ask for!" I told Erin when we finally saw each other. "These are my friends from school. Erin meet Yasmine, Elise, Kiaya, Jefrina and Courtney."
We had a small party in mine, Erin's and Sienna's flat at the end of the day. The only adult there was Lily and we danced until we dropped and all our friends had left. Erin and Sienna had gone to bed and it was just me and Lily left in our once overcrowded living room. We were sat on the sofa together, my head resting on Lily's shoulder. My eyes started drooping.
