You fidget with the bottom of your shirt as you feel the elevator rising. Years of blood, sweat and tears have lead you to this point. You'd be lying if you said your anxiety wasnt through the roof. And that's saying a lot, since the Heaven's Arena has 251 floors.

Ever since you were a child, you were infatuated with the art of battle. That along with the fact that your father was so involved with the Arena, it's no question how you ended up here. You took a deep breath in an attempt to calm your aura. The last thing you needed was the rest of the nen users here to know your nerves were getting to you.

The elevator beeps, interrupting your thoughts. Your ascend finally comes to an end and the metallic doors slide open. You're greeted by a woman about your height, wearing the flashy red Heaven's Arena uniform. She gave you a toothy smile.

"Hello and welcome to the 200th floor! You should be so proud, less than one percent make it this far!"

"Oh, tha-"

"Also i'm so so glad there's another girl competitor. Honestly, there's so much testosterone up here I can barely breath! Like we get it, you have a dick, big deal! Oops, i'm rambling again, aren't I."

Did she forget to breath?  To your amazement, she didn't pass out from lack of oxygen. Her ramblings completely threw you off your game.

Hey, this is about the time you're suppose to reply.

You nervously laugh while smiling to try to match her energy.

"Im just glad I made it this far! It's nice to be here." You said. She manages to smile even bigger

"Well it's no surprise! Your blew through the other floors like they were nothing! It's not often you get a rookie with skill like that!"

This conversation started to drain you. You decided to get on with it.

"Do you mind directing me toward the front desk?"

"Sure thing sweetie! That is my job after all. Let's see here.... Down that hall to the left." She pointed.

"Thanks." You said as you started heading that way. You noticed the subtly change in quality from the floors below. The walls, lights, carpet, all of it seemed more up kept and prestige.

When you turn the corner, you see about seven men all standing in the lobby. Quickly, you start analyzing. Each one was beaten up pretty bad. One man was missing an eye, and had scars from third degree burn all the way up his forearms. Another had both arms in a sling and an ankle brace. There was one man in particular who stood out of this freak show.

Not only was his looks very unusual, but his demeanor was cunning. And conniving. He struck you as the guy who was always three steps ahead of the rest of the competition. Not only that, but you felt his aura suffocating you from across the room. It was terrifying. You could barely keep your poker face.

Better steer clear of that one.

One thing they all had in common: they were watching your every move. Time for phase one. You step up to the front desk. You take a breath.

"Ahh, is this where I sign in?" You said, all sweetness. Though it hurts the pride a little, it's better the people here don't see you as a threat yet. Besides, you'll only need to do this until the next set of new guys come in and take the spotlight.

"Y/N, it's so nice to finally meet you! The ladies up here are big fans of yours, you know! It's not common for anyone to go up the ranks that fast, much less such a lovely young lady." she smiles as she fumbles behind the desk before handing you the key and paperwork.

Are all the women up here this chatty?

"Wow, I didn't know I had fans! And it's nice to meet you too, you all seem so sweet." Your smile shakes as you feel one of the men focusing his aura onto you. By the intensity, you assumed it was the jester's. Was this a test? Whatever it was, it was pissing you off.

"Your room is down at the end of the hall right there. Lucky you, being so close to the action~"

        You giggle.

"Yes, and I cant wait to meet everyone. Good luck to all of you!" You say to your spectators, as you cringe at the charade. Though it was convincing, it felt so out of character.  All anxieties melted away after you saw their reactions, it was clearly successful.

You begin walking to your room, continuing to feel that pestering mans aura on you. Before turning the corner, you lost your grip and pushed your aura right back into him. Though it isn't as sinister as his, it's something not to mess with. Turning around, you could see the strange man smiling, giving you a knowing look.

So much for steering clear... Oh well. How bad could he be?
