so there's this whole thing going on always about fake fans
usually people's arguments are something like "ugh, they call them five es oh es, so fake!!" or "calum's the asian one, right??" or even "omg my fave song is amnesia/dont stop/she looks so perfect"
guys come on..??
the point of us being FAMILY is so we can POLITELY assist any new members to LEARN ABOUT THINGS IN A NICE WAY because not ALL OF US are going to know the correct pronounciations or know who's who ( jfc. )
BUT SOMETHING THAT REALLY GRINDS MY GEARS IS WHEN PEOPLE CALL FANS FAKE BECAUSE THEY SAY THEIR FAVOURITE SONG IS ONE OF THEIR SINGLES!! PLEASE BACK THE FUCK OFF RN PLEASE PLEASE I'M BEGGING YOU PLEASE. WHAT IS SO WRONG WITH YOUR FAVOURITE SONG BEING ONE THAT IS COINCEDENTALLY PLAYED NEARLY 24/7 ON THE RADIO??? THERE'S A REASON WHY THEY'RE A GOD DAMN SINGLE ANYWAY!!

HOW DO PEOPLE BECOME FANS?? THEY HEAR ABOUT THEM THROUGH THINGS LIKE RADIO, OTHER PEOPLE, CONCERTS ETC. ETC. LIKE, I DIDN'T REALLY KNOW WHO 5SOS WERE UNTIL THEY OPENED FOR ONE DIRECTION LAST YEAR AND I WENT TO THE 1D CONCERT IN NZ

"nobody gets left behind or forgotten" and i'm pretty sure that when you call a new fan a fake fan, you're leaving them behind and forgetting them.
i understand that these boys are your boys but come on sweetheart, you aren't going to be the only one in the world to know who they are, obviously.
fake fans are just a label you're all using to hide the fact that you don't want 5sos to become more known because you know it'll decrease your chances of meeting them or something idk honey, i won't lie to you, it was a really really really really slim chance to being with unless they do a meet and greet in your town or you stalk them every day of their lives (please don't do that respect people's privacy thanks)
so please, if there's someone who says "5 es oh es" politely correct them instead of screeching how they're a fake fan.
if there's someone who asks if calum is the asian one, politely explain to them that he's actually half kiwi, half scottish
if someone says that their favourite song is amnesia or don't stop or she looks so perfect, don't attempt to murder them, smile and say 'cool, mine is ____' because if you calmly talk to them about your favourite band, it's more likely they'll become just as big a fan as you because you're welcoming them into the family.
it's what we should all do when someone starts to talk about 5sos and you've never heard them talk about 5sos before.
