i picked up my iphone and scrolled frantically through my contacts, uncontrollable tears racing down my cheeks and staining my face. i clicked on 'millie💕'. it rang for a few moments before she answered.

"wassup my dude," she snickered.

"millie you have to help," i sobbed.

"woah, are you crying? babe, what's wrong?"

"yes i'm crying, idiot." i said sarcastically.

"why?! is it maddie, did she cancel? is it emily? oh my god i will-" she began, before i cut her off.

"no, it's not maddie, or emily. well it's sort of maddie, not really, kind of," i choked out, spluttering and stumbling over my words.

"babe, calm. breathe in and out slowly. what happened?" millie asked, "tell me nice and slow."

"promise you won't laugh at me?"

"promise."

"i had a panic attack because i don't know what to wear on our date and i just wanna look pretty because she's so effortlessly gorgeous. fuck millie i really, really like her."

"awhh, you're so cute, and just wear whatever, you look good in anything."

"are you sure?" i mumbled.

"yes. go put on a nice top with a skirt or jeans or something."

"but i just wanna look perfect for her, god millie i'm so in love with her."

"you're too cute, now do your makeup and your hair and put some clothes on and pull yourself together."

"okay, i love you, see you soon."

i whipped out my phone and decided to text maddie, just to be sure she was still wanting to go.
