" Tadashi.." you repeat calmly, looking around. ".. Will he be alright..?"
" Brother can take care of himself." Kage responded as he sat down next to you. ".. He knows how to fight.." you nod as you look away, still doubtful. By the noise and rustling.. there was more than one person, making the fight very one sided. What if they caught him off guard? If they rush him.. he won't make it, being hopelessly out numbered.. Beside you, Kage gave a yawn, his multicolored tail swayed. Sometimes it was a very light brown, other times it held a hint of gold. At one point it had hints of light copper.
' Why does his tail change colors?' you thought, watching the sunlight reflect off the tail. His ears had a similar effect along with his eyes. He didn't seem to mind you staring as he absentmindedly played with a glittering gem in his hands. He seemed to be reciting a poem of some sort..
".. Mirror.. Reflecting..?" you catch some of the words but the majority seemed to just fly past you. You turn your gaze to the forest around you. The leafy greens leaves swayed in the light breeze as sunlight filtered through the area. With the constant words from Kage and the serenity of the forest itself, you find yourself floating off into daydreaming and into the endless maze of thoughts in your mind.

".. Hm.. I see." Kage's voice snapped you out of your thoughts and back to reality. The sun was still reletively high in the sky. Kage let the gem fall against his chest as he looked at you, his eyes making contact with yours.
".. What's happening?"
" Nothing much." he responded, ".. Aside from the fact that Brother hasn't returned yet."
".. Aren't you worried?" you ask, thinking of the possibilities that could have befallen the fox.
" Not really." Kage's reply was quick and almost as if he wanted to avoid the topic in a way. Maybe he was worried too, but didn't want to show it? The gem glittered slightly as Kage's fur continued to glisten different colors. The leaves and trees shifted almost as of something was behind or inside them, maybe it was your imagination?
What do you take notice of first that is different?
