Chapter 1 - Fade to black

"McCall! Wake up!"

"McCall!"

Scott had been knocked out unconscious while playing lacrosse.

Just as he ran towards the goal, the lights had gone out on the field & everything just happened too soon. He recalls a smile before everything went insane. A face he was familiar with but couldn't quite remember. A murmur across his ear. A distinctive voice. The only word he remembered was "Burn...". It was a rough hit. His left temple was raging with pain & at that moment. All went blank again.

The radiant sunlight glimmered through the window walls, floors & his beautiful face. Scott rose in confusion as Danny stood up, walked towards him & gave him a kiss on his forehead.

"How do you feel?" asked Danny.

"W-Why did you kiss me? Who are you? Where am I?"

"Are you feeling alright Scott?"

"No, no, no. Get away from me!"

Danny stepped back, puzzled in what was going on with Scott, he called Melissa.

"Is everything alright?" asked Doctor Reagan as he came barging in through the door.

"Uh, I'm not really sure if anything is ok right now so I'll just step out for a while." Nodded Danny as he walked past Dr. Reagan & out the door.

"Well uh, I'm not really sure what's going on," said Scott in confusion.

"What happened?"

"Well Mr. McCall, we're not really sure what exactly happened to you but you seemed to have suffered a severe lesion across your left temple. Do you remember anything?

"Well no, not really."

"It's common when a hit like that gets you. You might have a short term memory loss & we're not really sure how long it may be until everything gets back to normal."

Just as Scott was about to open his mouth, he turned towards the door & in came Melissa, his mom.

"Oh sweetie, are you okay?"

Scott let out a murmur as the doctor interrupted him & turned towards Melissa to explain to her what was going on.

Some days passed & Scott was ready to be dismissed from the hospital. He removed his garb & stepped into the shower. He felt pain on the lower right side of his torso as the water strew onto his body, he looked to see what was paining him & let out a scream.

Fortunately, Danny was right outside. He walked into the bathroom & everything just stopped. Scott looked at Danny in shock, as they both looked down at Scott's hand & there was blood all over it.

"You need some help with that?" said Danny, while giving Scott a clever smirk.

"I... Uh..."

Scott looked down & completely forgot he was naked.

"What are you doing here? Get out."

Scott covered himself with the shower curtain.

"You screamed & I came to see what was going on."

"Where's my mom?" "Mom!" Shouted Scott

"She had to go to work Scott & asked me if I could drive you home."

"Oh..." said Scott in a sad tone, while putting his head down.

Danny took a few steps towards the bathroom door when Scott stopped him.

"Wait," said Scott.

"Who are you?"

"Danny. Do you not remember me? I'm your friend... Your companion... your..." He stopped & looked up at Scott.

"I'm nothing special really. Finish showering so I can drive you home." & he walked out the door.
