A Long Road Ahead

CHAPTER 1

I am Grayson Blyss. I have a normal name. I am 15 years old. I have a normal age. I am 5"10. I have a normal height. I am battling cancer.

I was diagnosed with Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia on December 25 of 2012. Yep Christmas Day. We went to the clinic because I had strange bruising and bleeding on my arms and legs and even sometimes in my mouth. We took a few blood tests and they came back that night which was kind of unexpected because usually medical test results come back a day or to later.

Anyway, I was playing NBA2k 12 on my XBOX 360 when mom came into the room she was trying to hold back tears that I knew we're going to flood out even though she didn't want them to. She sat me down and my dad walked in and sat down to.

Mom started bawling so dad had to tell me the news. He said, "The results came back positive. Grayson you have... Leukemia." It hit me like a train. There was so much pressure and stress on my 12 almost 13 year old body.

Every night for 3 months after I got the news I would lay in my bed and bake like a baby knowing that my worst fear was happening to me. Death. Everyday was a living Hell. From finger pokes 5 times a day to having to give myself 2 shots everyday. I hated needles. Then I got used to them so they don't bother me anymore.

I have to take up to 60 pills a day and about 500 to 550 a week. There is just so much precaution and regulation. The worst part about it all in my opinion is that I have to watch my family members struggle through everyday just to make sure I'm alive and fine at the end of the day.

The more sadness I see in them it's more of a burden on me. They don't know that but I'm afraid if I tell them it's just going to make them wonder much more about how I'm doing. That in the long run will hurt their health rather than mine.

Everyday is the same boring thing shots, pokes, pills and a hospital bed. I get really bored. Everything on the T.V. there is Star Wars or Indiana Jones. I am not saying I don't like a couple of block buster movies here and there but almost everyday ugh! I just want to watch the Big Bang Theory!

CHAPTER 2

I met Melony on January 1st at the hospital. She was one year older than me, 16. She was gorgeous long red wavy hair and hazel eyes. Since the first time I said hey our eyes locked and I knew we had something special. She was a volunteer nurse at the hospital Grayson was staying in. After Everyday she would come check on Grayson and they would hold hands and flirt for usually about an hour after her shift was over.

Then one day after Grayson got the ok to go home they told him to try to always were a beanie of some sort because there would always be jerks that made fun of his completely bald head.

Melony came over to Grayson's house like she always did after school got over. But this time it was different than the flirty talk they usually did. Melody asked Grayson if she wanted to go on a date with him. Grayson responded with a loud YES!

They went out to Zizziano's Pizza on a Friday night. They ordered a big Pepperoni Pizza and two sides of Cheesy Tortellini Pasta. It was arguably the greatest night of Grayson's life and he was falling in love.

Melony drove them to an area on a hill that they could see all of the city from. Then Melony and Grayson went in for a kiss Grayson stopped halfway before getting to her pressed lips. He said, "I'm going to look up if you can spread Leukemia by Saliva?"

He grabbed his IPhone 4s and looked it up. By that time Melony is laughing uncontrollably and then Grayson says it doesn't say anything about Saliva so I'm going in. He went in and kissed her softly but yet meaningful and passionately.

Grayson had fell in immediate love with a girl he met at the hospital and he wasn't going to spend the rest of his life with any other girl on planet Earth.

CHAPTER 3

On October 3rd 2023 Grayson had his last Kemo treatment. It was a huge day in Grayson Life. 3 weeks later he proposed to Melony and they were married February 17 2024. There wedding day was huge. It was everything they could possibly want.

They also had all of Grayson's medical bills paid off because the year before the marriage Grayson accepted a job as an Private Information Recorder (They keep record of the secret topics, conversations, and decisions of the UN) at United Nation otherwise known a the UN.

It also helps that Melony a Country wide well-known lawyer. She specializes in false murder accusations. So they had much more money than a small family needed so that's when they decided to have a baby. The process went well through the whole pregnancy until the birth of the little baby boy. It was the worst day in all of Grayson Blyss's life.

CHAPTER 4

Gage Blyss and Melony Blyss died on November 26 2027 do to complications during the Birth. Grayson woke up every single day with the mind set that he killed his wife and his son. He thought that it was all his fault he cried every night for months and months on end. He even tried to kill himself but a neighbor got him to calm down and the trigger never got pulled.
