CHAPTER 6
I met Daryn Paige on Thanksgiving day of 2035. He is an 8 year old boy with the same type of cancer that I had when he was a kid. I went to the local children's hospital on 22nd street to eat a plentiful lunch with all the sick children and little Daryn came and sat by me at little table that could only sit two people.
I tell you what that little kid is a huge ball of joy. We ate are overcooked Turkey and extremely to salty mashed potatoes and gravy that the hospital prepared for the Thanksgiving meal. I would make cheesy jokes and he would laugh loud and heartily at everyone of them and i knew from that day that we were going to be great buddies.
I went home after Daryn taught me how to take a selfie on my IPhone 14 and sent it to my printer so I could give the picture to Daryn to put on his wall at the hospital. It printed and it was amazing.
2 days later I jumped in my pickup truck and drove off to the hospital. I gave the picture to Daryn's mother because he was peacefully sleeping. She told me he would love it and she thanked me for all that I do for Daryn. His mother, Kathryn asks if I wanted to sit down and have a cup of coffee. I felt kind of guilty when I said yes because she hadn't made the coffee yet. She got up out of her comfortable position grabbed the coffee maker, put water in it, and waited. While we were waiting she asked me one question. "What is your life story? Or is that to much of a question if it is I'm sorry. I am just curious." It's okay I replied and I told her everything.
