Chapter 10 - An Embrace

It is pitch black but ears hear sounds and voices vaguely. Seulgi is aware with her environment but it's heavy to open her eyelids. In the long run, she realizes that she listens to her sister in law's talking tone but she is too weak to say even a single word. For a while, she just lays there and patiently waits until all her senses start working. In the end, slowly her eyelids flutter and she successfully opens her eyes. She blinks a couple of times to adapt her sight with the dim light. She doesn't know where she is and she doesn't understand why she feels so weary. She sighs as she turns her head. Then she finds out that she gets intravenous infusion and that moment she knows, she is in VIP hospital room.

"Seulgi-ya?"

Joohyun, who is talking with Minyoung, suddenly realizes that Seulgi gains consciousness. Immediately she comes close to Seulgi's bed and looks to make sure. She completely feels relief when she sees Seulgi is awake. She just smiles before she reaches out her hand and presses the nurse call system. After that, she gives Seulgi water and asks if she needs anything. Seulgi just shakes her head and gives a smile though she still looks limp and pale. Minutes later, nurses come and check her condition. They leave right away after they are done with the care.

"What happened?" Seulgi manages to ask.

Joohyun just stares and considers if she should or should not tell her the truth. She then sighs and pulls a chair to sit on. She takes Seulgi's hand and holds it. She knows, sooner or later she will tell her this mess. She begins with the easiest part, saying that it's an anaphylaxis. Seulgi responds with a nod as she understands but she continues with deadlier question. Why and how. Joohyun takes a deep breath and it's enough for Seulgi to know something is wrong.

"What it is?" Seulgi asks with her weak voice.

"Seulgi---"

"Where is oppa?---" Seulgi cuts off "---and Jimin?" She continues as she remembers that he was the last person she saw before fainted.

Joohyun has no choice. She needs to tell Seulgi the truth to reveal Minjae, Jimin and Seojoon whereabout. She starts talking and stating about the situation. As she goes deeper, Seulgi's expression turns paler as she feels very taken aback. It's getting worse and Seulgi feels even shocker when she reads the threat message. Her hands tremble nervously as she thinks about one exact person who is capable to do such evil and harmful thing to her. She knows but her kind self keeps obligating her to think positively.

"Minjae, Jimin and Seojoon are at police station at the moment to testify---" Joohyun explains "---don't worry, we will catch whoever hurt you" She continues, trying to comfort Seulgi.

Seulgi has no idea is it because she just recovers from anaphylaxis or whatever reason it is, but right now her brain fails to do its function. There is a chaos inside her mind and she loses her ability to think clearly. She has a lot of fears but she hides it perfectly infront of her sister in law. She knows that everybody already worries and she doesn't want to add any kind of weight to their shoulder by showing her feeling. She then nods to Joohyun and tells that she wants to rest again because she still feels weak. Of course it's a white lie. Actually, she just wants to close her eyes and try to think about this whole situation, but in the end she surrenders.

The dawn touches the world but Jimin is still wide awake, sitting on a chair beside Seulgi's bed. Hours ago, he returned from the police station and heard that his girl got her consciousness. He sweared, relieved was an understatement but that was the only word he could think at the moment. Since he arrived up until now, he just accompanies her and watches her breathe in sleep. Sometimes he caresses her hand but the other time he brushes her hair softly. He just wants to touch her gently and feel her warm skin because he misses her already. He misses her gaze. He misses her voice. Lastly, he misses her smile.
