I know for a fact that they didn't like what I had to say, they had the same tightness around the mouth and angry look in their eyes. The classic Toretto siblings look that says, "I don't want to hear it". They had to though because it was very much the truth and both of them know that I won't hold in my thoughts to appease their feelings.
I won't lie to them just because Mia's in love with Brian. We have our own issues but every time that Brian is around even more trouble arises. I went to sleep without worrying about anything because now we know what they want and we're one step ahead. In the morning I kept mainly to myself since I could feel the residual anger.
Brian was the only one who made the attempt to speak to me, which I found highly surprising but to each their own. He called me over when they decided to check the damn chip.
"What do you think?" Mia and I asked at the same time, making us laugh awkwardly.
"Well, its definitely a custom chip, look at all these side menus here for data entry. Let's check this one. Look at that; same building, same order every week." Brian said after pressing one of the little tabs.
"It's a delivery schedule." I said.
"What's this? Drugs?" Mia asked.
"No, that's a dealer pack." I told her.
"See, most major players, they weigh their money so they don't have to constantly count it. Right there, that's 49 kilos." Brian said.
"49 kilos is a million in twenties. What? I learned some things working with LAPD." I muttered when the three of them just stared at me.
"So you're saying each one of these shipments is worth 10 million dollars?" My sister asked.
"Yeah." I replied.
"So what is that? A hundred-million plus in cash houses?" Brian asked.
"Just about a hundred ten, yeah, that's a lot of dinero." I said.
"That's how he keeps it off the grid." Dom said.
"I think it's safe to say that Reyes is smart to want this back. It's his whole network right there just laid out on a chip . . ." Brian started to say but was interrupted.
We heard a noise outside, sort of metal clunking against metal and we all knew what that means, they found us. I looked over at my sister who had a panicked look on her face. Brian pulled the chip out of the computer and handed it to Dom while I grabbed my gun and backup magazine. I go nowhere without it.
"Go." I told my sister and her man.
"You're coming with us." Brian argued.
"No I'm not, Dom might be the brute strength but I'm the only one of us with a gun. There's no time to argue now go. I'll help Dom distract to give you a head start and then we'll be on our merry fucking way." I told them.
Mia looked over at Dom but he just shrugged so she went off with Brian.
"We got this, now give me a boost." I told him.
I sat straddling the top of the wall that Mia and Brian jumped over and hid behind a half wall. Dom was hiding as well but Brian and my sister weren't completely over the wall when the men came in. I started shooting as soon as they opened fire on my sister, taking a few men down before Dom rushed out and took out a few more. When it became apparent that we needed to leave he ran over to me and told me to jump before ramming through a wall.
"Come on, we gotta go." He said, grabbing my hand.
We ran from rooftop to rooftop over the favelas, with bullets spraying behind us. It came time to jump down to a rooftop a few hundred feet away and I was scared shitless. I let go of my brother, took the adrenaline impulse and made the leap, rolling out and jumping to the next, lower rooftop. I looked up at my brother who landed in a crouch on the rooftop I just jumped off of but he stopped to look behind him for some reason.
