BEEP,BEEP,BEEP! I woke to the sound of my alarm clock. 6:15! Why the hell did I set it that early. As I turned on my side to turn of my clock all awnsers were given. For sitting there, peacefully on my bedside table, was the file.
I shock showered, speed dried, quick changed, and stumbled down the stairs. Before racing back up again realising I'd forgotten the file.
Sitting down on the sofa with a steaming cup
of coffee, I picked up the file. This was the moment of truth. RAP,RAP,RAP! Went my door. I took a breath of frustration and heaved of the sofa. I strode over and opened the door. My eyes were met with a horrific sight. A red faced, wrinkled, monster. My next door neighbour, Herman. "Uh hi Herman, this is a bad time. Think you could come back later? Thanks." I rushed, and then shut the door, only he jammed his foot in before it closed. "Open this door, right now Jaxon."
"Now Herman I told you, that my name is Jax."
"Whatever. Last night, someone went straight into my e-box and crumpled it right down. Now all my mail is fried." Herman complained.
"How do your e-box problems concern me?" I questioned. "Well, judging by your eyes you stayed up late, so you must have got in your car and rammed straight into my electrobox." He accused. The old mans antics where getting on my nerves and I had work to do. "Listen here Herman, I couldn't have been the one to do it 'cause I don't have a car. Satisfied. Ok, thank you for dropping by, next time bring cookies." I finished kicking his foot out of the door, slammming it and locking it. What a relief I thought. Settling back down on the sofa, I picked up the file once again, this time opening without hesitation. I expected to find paper after paper of written documents. But instead, I found pictures. They seem to have been secretly taken. One was of President Maan talking with some of his closests party members in the Oval Office. Behind them on a project screen was a picture of a syringe. Inside the syringe was a fluorescent green substance. After studying that picture thoroughly, I looked at the next one. It pictured a pregnant woman getting injected with the fluorescent liquid whilst President Maan and some advisors stood watching. The pregnant woman smiled fondly up at the president whilst he held her hand tightly. And when I searched up President Maan's wife on my phone , it wasn't the woman in the picture. Just by looking at those two pictures all I could deduce was that the liquid might have been some cure for something. And that judging by the way the woman and the president looked at eachother, they were in love. So to put it simply the President was having an affair. I decided I would get my computer and note these things down first. I ticked the file under my arm and walked upstairs to my room where my FlatBook lay on my bedside table. I flung the file on my bed and walked around my bed to collect my computer. Just as I was about to login I heard someone knock at the door. Not again I thought. "GO AWAY HERMAN!" I screamed.
"Herman? This is the APD open up!" To my surprise I had mistaken Herman for Police officers. "Uh sorry, I'll be right with you." I called back. Immediately panicking, I stashed the file inside my pillowcase thinking that I was busted.
I ran down the stairs and yanked open the door. "Sorry, hope I didn't take too long. Had to get changed." I huffed making up an excuse. "Missed a button." One of the police officers chided. I looked down to sort out my buttons, until I realised who's voice it was. Out of the police officers on the whole entire police force of America, they sent Megan and her counterpart Rexander. "Hi" I greeted. "Hey again." She smiled. "Hang on, you know this dude?" Rexander exclaimed. "Uh Yeah, we met at a bar last night." Megan lied. "But we were on patrol last night." He called out.
"It must have been the day before, you don't remember these things you know." Megan countered covering her tracked. "Anyway besides the fact, this guy is under arrest for abusing and assaulting a senior. You have the right to remain silent, anything you say or do may be used against or for you in court." Rex manhandled me out of my front door and onto my front garden. He turned me around and handcuffed me. "Ok What! I don't even know an old person."
"Woah Rex I'm sure there's a much better explanation, you don't have to handcuff him. " Megan stepped in grabbing the keys from his belt and undoing the handcuffs just as quickly as they were applied.
"Don't listen to the girl, he's a psychopath!" I abruptly turned to find Herman leaning on his fence watching on. "HERMAN?!, I've never even come near you, I don't know anyone who even would." I retorted. "Now, now, what would you call our little discussion this morning?" Herman smiled slyly. "And actually Mr.Pickard is 1 month over the classified age of a senior, which he made us very aware of." Rex informed.
"Look dude, all I did was shove his foot out of my door. He was poking around in my business." I told Rex. He looked at me and sighed. "Fine, it looks like he over exaggerated. Sorry about the trouble." He acknowledged. "Thanks." I said. Rex strode over to Herman. "Mir.Pickard I advise that you refrain from..." his voice droned out as I shielded my eyes from the glaring sun. Megan stayed behind shaking her head and tutting. "I can't keep bailing you out. This is strike two, don't let me catch you again."
She warned. "Yes ma'm, and Hey do you think I could catch your number?" Megan looked at me with a raised eyebrow. "I would not recommend using that pick up line. Ever" she told me. I smiled and nodded. "But can I still have it, just in case I do something illegal again." I joked. She chuckled and looked up at me with her big brown eyes. "Sure. But only because you made me laugh." Megan took out a notepad and pen and scribbled down her number. She tore of the leaf of paper and handed it to me. "Thanks." I smiled. I studied her face not wanting her to leave, but Rex honked his horn signalling her exit. Walking back into my house I realised that maybe I could use this new friendship as an advantage. If Megan works in the Police force, she might be able to work as a double agent. If I could get her to work on my side.
