Delilah’s P.O.V

Sunlight stung my still-adjusting eyes as I took in my surroundings. Sadly, I didn’t hear birds chirping or anything pleasant like in the movies, more so multiple tires screeching against the pavement.

I was laying on something hard and wooden, instead of my bed at home. I gazed around, observing the many weirdly dressed people bustling through the street. Pushing myself up into a seated position, I groaned as a wave of dizziness washed over me.

“Uh-Excuse me? Hi, uhm, what's the date today?” I awkwardly stood up from the park bench I was sprawled out on, before tapping the closest person I could find. They sent me a weird look before picking up their pace, without even so much as an answer or a second glance.

Great.

Just great.

I huffed in annoyance, letting my eyes rake back and forth over the scene lying in front of me. Panic rose up within my chest as spun around a few times, realizing nothing around here looked even remotely similar to what it was like back at home.

Until I saw Calum bent over the hood on one of those older cars. The panic I previously felt was now replaced with rage, as I stormed towards him. People gave me a wide berth as I did so, sending me similar looks to the one that other person shot at me.

“What the hell is going on right now?!” I hissed as I slammed the hood down, making him jump in alarm. I crossed my arms across my chest in an attempt to look intimidating.

I must have failed, seeing as he tried to muffle a laugh.

“Welcome to the year 2011!” He grinned like his sentence was even remotely normal, and spread his arms out as he gestured around the general vicinity.

I narrowed my eyes at him.

“You’re insane. This can’t be real,” I shook my head, pacing back and forth.

“But it is. How are you feeling?” He asked, shutting the hood of his car and walking towards me while wiping his grimy hands on a cloth.

“Shocked, mainly. Other than that, just fine.”

“That’s good,” He responded; oblivious to the sarcasm that laced my tone. “Now, I need to take you back to my place so we can make a plan of somewhat,” he told me, staring straight into my eyes. Before I could respond, he got into the side of the strange looking vehicle.

“What makes you think I’m getting in that.....thing with you?” I placed a hand on my hip and raised my eyebrows at him.

“Because if you don’t, you’re stuck in 2011 for the rest of your life, not knowing anyone or anything about this place. Have fun!” A cheery look dominated his face as he waved before shutting the door to the vehicle. Leaving me in the street all alone.
