The party Kehlani had been dragged along to wasn't exactly fun. She couldn't drink for obvious reasons but people were getting suspicious. She ended up accepting a drink from someone before tossing it away when they weren't looking.

It was hell.

A lot had happened in the short time between the party and school the next week. Jacob Black, who had been missing from school finally showed up again, this time a literal copy of Jared and Paul.  His hair was cut short, he's bulked up a lot and he had isolated himself from his old friends.

Kehlani glanced over at Embry and Quil who glared at Jacob and she couldn't help feel bad for them. Sure, she had her own problems, but that didn't mean others didn't.

With a sigh, she turned back to her own food, grabbing the sandwich and taking a bite. She tuned back into Hallie and Andi's conversation.

"So, the girl I met at the party?" Andi told, pausing for dramatic effect. "She wants to go on a date."

"That's great," Kehlani exclaimed, smiling at her friend. "What's her name?"

"Kelsey, she's super sweet and cute and smart and I'm excited," she rambled.

"You should be," Hallie replied. "So, where are you going?"

"A movie, it's simple, it's cliche and it's totally cute," Andi answered.

"We like," Kehlani replied, nodding her head in agreement. "And if it goes really well, you'll both be making out in the back of the theatre."

"Exactly!"

The trio laughed.

Kehlani received a phone call from Paul later that week, Thursday to be exact.

"Come with me to Sam's on Saturday," he blurted shortly after an exchange of greetings.

"Why?" Kehlani questioned.

"I sort of told him about the baby-"

"You what?" She exclaimed. "Paul-"

"I trust him," he interrupted. "He won't tell anyone."

"He better not because it's your ass I'll be kicking if he does," she threatened.

"He won't, I promise," Paul reassured, his voice soothing. "As I was saying: I want you to come to Sam's on Saturday for dinner. His Fiancée, Emily says she'll cook, the other guys will be there but they don't know," he explained.

"I'll ask my mom," she replied. "Give me a second."

After yelling down the stairs, her mom quickly agreed.

"She says yes," she told.

"I'll pick you up at six, dress casual," he informed before hanging up.

---

Saturday arrived too quickly for Kehlani and she stood staring at her reflection in her new (baggy) jeans and her (baggy) top. Despite all the baggy clothing, she concluded she looked cute.

Six arrived even quicker than she had anticipated and Paul was knocking on her front door. She grabbed her phone and jacket before heading out.

"You look nice," he complimented.

"Thanks," she muttered, climbing into his car, or what she assumed was his car.

The car ride was with the pair discussing anything but the pregnancy. For one night the girl wanted to be just sixteen again, not sixteen and pregnant.

Again, time went quickly for Kehlani and there she was sitting in a car outside Sam Uley's house, about to have dinner.

"Come on," Paul encouraged.

"Give me a second, didn't anyone ever tell you not to rush a pregnant woman?" She quipped.

He frowned before noticing the smirk on her lips.

"Back to the old Kehlani I see," he joked back.

"She never left, bitch," she replied, climbing out of the car.

Paul knocked on the front door but before he could warn Kehlani not to stare, Emily answered the door, her scars in full view.

But Kehlani didn't flinch or stare or even pause.

"Hi, I'm Kehlani," she introduced, holding out her hand. Emily shook it.

"Emily, Paul has told us all about you," Emily replied. Kehlani froze. "I can keep a secret, don't worry."

Kehlani hoped she was telling the truth.

She and Emily were the only three present in the house as Sam and the rest were 'late'. Kehlani only smiled and told her it was fine, she didn't mind. Paul had gone off to find them. He seemed slightly angry at the time.

"So, Kehlani, how are you coping with all of this?"

"Honestly?" She questioned and Emily nodded. "I'm freaking out."

"That's understandable, but if you ever need anything, feel free to stop by, I make good muffins," she comforted.

"I do like muffins," Kehlani responded, smiling.

Their conversation was cut short as the boys they were waiting on appeared in the doorway, apologising for their lateness.

"It's fine, the food is still hot," Emily reassured.

"This is Kehlani," Paul introduced, gesturing to the young girl who was sat at the table.

She waved awkwardly.

There was a chorus of 'nice to meet you's' before individual introductions were made. Jared went first before Sam and then finally Jake.

Except he didn't introduce himself. He made eye contact with her and froze.

Kehlani was beyond confused. There was a frown etched onto her face before Paul took her attention away from him with a low growl. That confused her more.

Jared was the one to save the day.

"Don't mind him, he's just recovered from mono," he excused but Kehlani didn't buy it.

She didn't show that she was skeptical though, instead, she just nodded and began talking to the others.

At the end of the night, Kehlani concluded that Emily was one of the best cooks she'd ever met and that she should open a restaurant or something because Kehlani would eat there every night. It could have also been the pregnancy affecting her opinion but she decided it wasn't. Emily was just talented.

"Thank you so much for dinner, Emily," Kehlani spoke up as she stood to leave with Paul. "It was so good."

"I'm glad you liked it, and remember if you ever need anything give me a call," she informed, handing her a small slip of paper.

"Will do, thanks," she responded, slipping the paper into her back pocket.

They all said goodbye before Kehlani and Paul drove away, the former exhausted.

A/N sorry it's short and unedited but it's been like three months so I wanted to just publish it
