Girl, whisper your sweet nothings in my ear
Jeongin walked to his favorite café after school, well one of the only ones he could go to since most of the people that worked there could actually sign. He was always took pride in his disability, although only his teachers knew he was deaf.
The boy smiled at the female that waved at him as he entered, walking up to the counter, looking up.
Hi Lisa, he signed with a smile on his face
Hi Jeongin! The usual?
He nodded and took his money out, holding it to her face. The girl shook her head and he frowned, waving the money in her face as he mouthed 'please?' Lisa shook her head and called "next!"
Jeongin pouted, defeated as he read the girl's lips and waddled to his seat, putting earbuds in his ears and taking his homework out to start working on.
"What are you listening to?" a boy asked and naturally, no response from Jeongin. Jeongin continued doing his work silently until a note was put on top of it.
What are you listening to?
Jeongin smiled and wrote back quickly.
Nothing. I'm deaf. And please don't say sorry or anything. I like being deaf, trust me it's as much of a gift as a child is a burden.
Chan smiled and took the paper back.
Can you teach me how to sign??
sure!
