The Beginning

Amongst the void of darkness where there is neither breath nor sound, numerous elements float and linger. Some matter collide with another, either to break apart or meld together. One such matter absorbs everything in its path, growing and evolving with each passing.

It's neighbors brimming with warm colors. Masses of gas imploding to birth a new star. These stars mapped over the vast blackness, mark their territory. This one was smaller in comparison to the rest. Their light brighter and pull stronger than its own. It had no choice but to leave its current station lest it be consumed.

It travelled long and far, its form stagnant during the indefinite journey. With the matter transparent, its surface solid enough to endure collision with masses smaller than itself. It had accumulated enough heat, glowing a tender white light from within. The ball of light at its center flickering and waning, its shade and hue shifting to imitate its close peers. Yet no matter the space it occupies nor the star it mimics, this form remains minuscule compared to the rest. It cannot hope to rival nor compete, its existence nearly insignificant in this wide emptiness.

How long had it travelled, the source of its energy gradually depleting. In a world where it's eat or be eaten, there was no longer a matter smaller than itself to engulf. Always it is hopeful to see a mass of stars gathered in the distance, their light great in numbers yet so small. But upon arrival to the new plain will it find disappointment, for the stars weren't as small as they had seemed. Universe after universe, traveling in this vast void. Where and when can this little one finally settle?

BANG! Yet a new world was born, and with it comes new hope. This universe is still young and many particles are scattered about. It welcomed the smaller matters to its ever hungry self. It feasted upon the entire space until only one star and several large balls of mass remained untouched along with the smaller matters around the said spheres. As each had their own force of pull, he left those matters be. Now that it had regained energy and mass, it decided to settle in this particular universe. It decided to hibernate, tired from the long journey. The moment it awoke it observed its new peers and noticed a pattern.

These spheres of various sizes orbit around the blazing star. Unlike the place where it once dwelled, the stars here show no conflict with one another. Then again, the masses cannot be considered stars. Perhaps they have evolved beyond that of a star. Once more it felt envy and studied each of the orbs. There were two small orbs which were furthest from the blazing star which were cold and dead. It can consume the orb that is larger than itself if it wishes so but decided not to. It knew that consuming one of the orbs might disrupt the balance in the universe and cause the others to collide. But even without doing so, others matters have come stray from beyond the universe. Laying in the outer reaches of the blazing star was no longer safe.

It moved closer, keeping distance from orbs and dodging shooting masses. The closer it came to the blazing star, the warmer it felt. The heat was nurturing and it felt stronger and grew wiser than never before. But as expected the Sun was too powerful, it could no longer move closer beyond the third Planet. As these planets orbit around the sun, there were smaller orbs revolving around the bigger ones. It mimicked the Moon until it found an orbit of its own. Finally it had settled itself, no longer will it travel nor feed.

Time has passed it had lost count of the number of revolutions. There was not much to see, no more to mimic, nothing to do. Then it noted a change in the third planet. For once  the planet was dead and desolate like the rest, now there life and movement. It was too big to go near the planet and their force of gravity would only cause them to collide. Thus it sent a bit of its essence on to the planet to study it more closely. The first time it failed, its essence burnt to nothingness before breaking through the atmosphere. The second attempt passed through but crashed and broke on the Earth's crust.

On its third attempt, it created an outer layer strong enough to withstand the barrier of the atmosphere, a conscience to navigate through the planet, and a will to keep its form alive. The body pierced through the atmosphere, the mind evaded the hard crust and landed on a body of water, but only the soul remained and wandered the Earth for many revolutions until it also withered and vanished to nothingness. But all was not in vain as it had learned from its errors. The memories of the soul returned to its origin so it may create a stronger, smarter, and better being to walk the Earth.
