My eyes fluttered open and I tried to process where I was. I felt a body and arms around me and suddenly realized I had fallen asleep with Alex. It was still dark out so I know it wasn't time for school yet. My eyes adjusted to the dark and I could see Alex's face. His lips were slightly parted and his head was tilted back. I turned around and saw that everyone else had gone already and it was just us in the house again. I debated on whether or not to wake him up or to let him sleep. I layed my head back down and his eyes suddenly opened.
"Hey," he smiled at me. "What time is it?" He stretched his arms out and yawned.
"Uh," I grabbed my phone from the floor and checked it, "3:18" he smiled again.
"Sweet so I don't have to move yet." He wrapped his arms around me again and pulled me closer to him.
"What time do you wanna go home to get ready?" I asked. His eyes opened again.
"Maybe 6?" I nodded and put in the time on my phone or an alarm. "Hey," I looked up at him and he suddenly moved his face closer to mine, catching my lips in his.
"What's that for?" I asked after we pulled back.
"Nothing, I just wanted too. Something about you just takes my breath away." My cheeks started burning and I was grateful that he couldn't see me.
-
A few hours later and I woke up again to the beeping of my phone. I rolled over to stretch but instead of hitting the bed my body hit the ground. I shot up quickly, remembering that I'm on the couch, with Alex.
"Alex," I shook his arm. "Lex wake up." He rolled over and groaned.
"I can't. I'm too tired. You kept me up all night." I scoffed at him and pushed him again.
"Yeah it was definitely me that kept you up. I'm going to get ready for school, you need to too. I'll see you at lunch." I got up about to head upstairs what I heard my name
"Clarke!" I turned around to see him sitting up, his hair everywhere. I smiled at the sight and raised my eyebrows.
"Goodbye kiss?"
-
A little while later I ran out of the house to meet Ray at the post in between our houses. I pushed off on my board towards where I could see her smiling.
"You're late." She said.
"Yeah it took forever to get Lex out of my house."
"Ooo, nicknames now?" She wiggles her eyebrows at me.
"Shut up." I said, slowly gliding beside her. "Thanks for waking us up when you guys left, by the way." I smacked her arm.
"We all decided you guys looked comfortable, so we left you." I rolled my eyes. "First kiss and first sleepover with a guy all in one day. You're turning into a real slut there Clarke." We both laughed.
"How's fro boy?" I asked her, her jaw dropped an eyes got wide in laughter.
"You mean Zack!?" I nodded yes, "His fro is cute leave him alone." We both giggled.
"He seems to be way better than anyone else you've been with." She blushed and looked away. "I approve of him."
"And I approve of Alex! Zack says he cannot stop talking about you when we're not around." Now it was me that was going red.
"I like him a lot."
"So how was the first kiss?" I laughed in embarrassment at the memory.
"I froze." Her eyes got wide.
"No way!" We both laughed.
"I didn't know what to do, he had to show me! Ray it was awful!" She laughed even harder and made kissy faces at me.
"Have you guys kissed since then?" I gave her a smile and she freaked out all over again.
"I hope he asks you out soon I'm dying of anticipation!"
"He asked me to go on a date yesterday, does that count?"
"Yes! We should go on a double date! I'm texting Zack we're making this happen." I nodded at her.
"I'll see you in third bell." We locked pinkies and went our separate ways into the school.
I went up to my locker and got out the book I need for first class, it's English which is me favorite class by far. I shut my locker door and jumped at the person standing behind it.
"Hey." Alex smiled.
"You scared the shit out of me!"
"Oh sunshine you'll be fine. What class do you have first?"
"English, you?"
"Choir. Can I walk you?" He reaches around my books and took one of my hands. My heart started beating faster.
"Uh I guess, you know the English hallway is on the opposite side of the school as the band wing right?" He nodded and started walking.
"I guess I better hurry then huh?" We walked hand in hand through the halls towards my class, people he knows looking at me like they've never seen me before, because they probably never noticed me.
We get to my class and he starts to pull me into him before my teacher comes out of the room and clears her throat.
"Thanks for your assistance, Mr. Gaskarth but I think she can take it from here."
My cheeks went pink as my favorite teacher smiled at us. Alex smirked and nodded, settling for a kiss on the hand before walking away, or should I say sprinting.
"New boyfriend?" She asked me.
"I don't know." I shrugged and walked into the room behind her as the bell rang. Alex is definitely late for his first class.
-
The first half of the day went by fast, Alex walked me to every class and was waiting for me outside of the door of my math class when the bell for lunch rang.
"Ready?" He asked smiling. I smiled back and took his hand, he laced our fingers and we walked down the stairs together.
"What made you wanna walk me to class all day?" I asked and he looked over at me, "I mean, we have opposite schedules."
"I just wanted an excuse to see you all day, because we have opposite schedules." We walked into the lunch room and Alex ran up to the line to meet with the guys while I'll sat down with Ray at our usual table.
"What's in the bag of goodies today?" She asked peeking into my book bag. We both decided we hate waiting in line so we just bring snacks everyday.
"A box of Girl Scouts cookies, fish crackers, and carrots." I said, pulling each item out.
"We're so healthy." She said opening the cookie box. I laughed at her and stuffed a carrot in my mouth.
A few minutes later the table was full with all the guys minus Zack and their trays.
"At you guys eating thin mints?" Jack asked confused.
"Yeahs it's apart of our diet." I replied.
"What diet?" Rian pitched in.
"The 'we don't want to wait in the lunch line' diet." Ray said, I laughed and the guys still looked confused.
"Makes sense." Alex laughed.
"So Alex," Ray started. I groaned, knowing what was coming.
"What's up?" He said with a mouth full of food.
"What are you doing Saturday?"
"Nothin yet, why?"
"I talked to Zack earlier,"
"Really Ray?" I said, I put my hands over my face again. Alex looked confused as he put more food in his mouth.
"Do you wanna go on a double date with us?" She asked.
"Oo! Can I be Alex's date?" Jack asked.
"No, Clarke is obviously." Ray scolded him.
"I'm down," He smiled at me. "I've never been on a double date."
"That's because they're cheesy and awkward." I pointed out.
"Awe! Come on Clarke it'll be fun!"
"Fine." I mumbled.
-
Every night for the next few days Alex walked me home. Kissing me before whisking away to his own house.
When Thursday night came I got I the courage to ask him to hangout after school. He excitedly agreed and we both walked into my house. He set his skateboard up against the wall by mine and slumped his backpack down next to it.
"So, what do you wanna do?" He asked as we walked towards the kitchen. I grabbed a bottle of juice and tossed one over to him.
"I don't know, wanna go up to my room and listen to music?"
"Your room, eh?" He raised his eyebrows suggestively at me. I could feel embarrassment wash over my whole body.
"Not like that, nasty." He laughed and started walking towards the stairs.
"I was joking, so which of these is yours?" He asked once we reached the top of the stairs.
"That one," I pointed to a door and he walked through it like it was something he'd done a thousand times before. He threw himself into my bed and patted the spot next to him.
I quickly put on some music and laid down in his open arms. My chest fluttered as he started running his fingers through my hair. I laid my head on his chest and closed my eyes as he quietly sang along to the song I'd put on.
"You're hairs so soft." He commented, pulling a piece away and finger-combing it.
"So yours." I mocked and put my fingers in his hair. He smiled and looked down at me, catching my eyes.
We looked at each other for a minute before he leaned down and kissed me softly.
"I can't believe how fast this has gone." He whispered.
"What do you mean?"
"I feel like I've known you forever." I giggled at him.
"Lex it hasn't even been a week since we met."
"I know. You're not even my girlfriend yet." My head snapped up.
Yet? Does that mean he plans on asking me? I couldn't figure out what words to say and my brain threw out the first ones I thought of.
"Do you like me?" He looked at me, then back up at the ceiling. I cannot believe I just asked him that, where is this confidence coming from?
"Yeah. I like you a lot." He sighed and started to rub my back with his hand, the other one laying across this stomach. "I feel so nervous around you. I never know what to say or how to act and I just wanna skip the weird beginning and jump right into being with you. I don't know though we never really discussed feelings or anything, did we?" I shook my head no. I don't even know what to say to that, he just told me exactly how he feels. I feel so shaken up and anxious.
I moved his face towards mine and for the first time since we met, I kissed him first. He relaxed into it, all his nerves seemingly calming. I adjusted my body so I was laying halfway on top of him, his free hand finding his way into the back of my hair, pulling me closer to him. I pulled back and looked into his dark eyes.
"I like you too, Lex." I whispered. We kissed again, with both of us trying to get closer to the other. He grabbed my leg and started to pull it over his lap before it brushed against the tight part of his pants. We pulled apart and his face went hot.
"Oh," I said, not knowing what else to say.
"I'm sorry, oh god, uh I'm sorry." He gushed.
"Alex calm down, don't be sorry." I laughed.
"I'm a teenage boy making out with my crush my hormones are raging you can't blame me."
"I can't believe you're so embarrassed!" I laughed at him. "Haven't you done this stuff before?" He scratched the back of his head, looking away. "What!? Alex the kissing expert is a virgin?"
"Shut up you are too!"
"Yeah but everyone knows I am."
"Sorry I don't sleep around like Jack." He said. I suddenly felt bad for teasing him. I leaned down again and kissed his cheek, keeping my face by his.
"I didn't mean to make you mad, Lex. I'm just messing around." He looked up with warm eyes and smiled.
"I know." He whispered. "Kiss me again."
-
When Friday morning came I was on top of the world. I got dressed in high-waisted black shorts and a long sleeve white shirt with a black silhouetted 'piece sign' on the front. I tucked in my shirt and grabbed my black and white vans.
I met with Ray at our normal spot, beaming with joy.
"Someone's happy today." She commented.
"I am beyond happy! Alex came over last night."
"Oh, really? What happened?" I smiled at her and she raised an eyebrow.
"Well, we kissed, a bunch. And he told me he likes me, a lot. And that I make him nervous! Isn't that cute?"
"Awe! Clarke's first boyfriend!"
"Not yet, but he did say that."
"Say what?" She asked.
"He said 'you're not even my girlfriend yet' when we were talking about feelings and stuff." She squealed at me.
"He's gonna ask you soon, I can feel it."
"Yeah with your magic powers you have?" We both laughed.
Suddenly we heard wheels approaching, I looked over my shoulder to see Alex coming up on the road on his board.
"Hey!" He called out to us. We both waved and he kept looking over.
Suddenly his body smacked into a parked car and his face hit the top of the trunk.
"Alex!" Me and Ray both yelled, running over to him.
He rolled off of the car and onto the ground, holding his nose. "Fuck that hurt!" He said as loudly as he could.
"Are you okay?" I squatted down next to him, trying to get a look at his nose.
"Yeah, is it bleeding?" He slowly moved his hand and a quick gush of blood came out,
"Oh god! Ew yeah! It's bleeding!" I tried to look away, but I couldn't. "Come on, get up I'm taking you to the nurses." He got up slowly and I grabbed his board from the other side of the car where it had rolled. "This is why you need to pay attention to the road when you skate." I laughed at him.
"Guys I'm gonna run ahead so I'm not late, but I'll see you at lunch!" Ray called to us. I waved her on and continued walking with Alex.
"I couldn't help it, the view was good."
"Even in this much pain you're sill hitting on me?" I laughed at him. He nodded and smiled, still holding his nose in his hand.
