"We can confirm she was not at the crime scene," the police officer said bluntly, pushing the akuma reports toward Roger. "In fact, all of them parted ways, Marinette left for a meetup with friends, and Mr and Mrs Dupain-Cheng went for a walk."

"Anything else?" Roger grumbled, grabbing the reports and tapping on the desk to even them out. "Does her alibi check out?"

"Her friends Nino and Alya bot say she was there, as well as other witnesses from the café, but it's unclear what Marinette was doing during her walk." the man said. In an even lower and serious tone he continued. "But we still aren't able to discount her attacking her mother, leaving her for dead and running away."

Raincomprix knitted his eyebrows together curiously.

He's worked a police job for 20 years, but even he is utterly disgusted by the idea of a child killing their own mother.

He sifts through the report, and finds the list of suspect, with Marinette's smiling face clipped along with what they know about her. Her freckles cheekily shining, and her blue eyes sparkling. Not even for a second would believe she could commit murder.

Roger sighs heavily, putting down the report with a thud.

This girl...she's going to be a prime suspect soon unless I find someone else who was around in that area.

Roger studied the reports thoroughly, trying to remember what happened. All he remembered was getting a painful call from a concerned father, saying someone murdered his wife. And once he had got there, the man ran away.

The father seems like a likely suspect...but why call the police before running away? It makes no sense...

"Oi Roger!" someone in precinct yelled, their head peaking through the door of his office.

"What is it boy?" he said, angrily.

"There's someone out there attacking the streets! He's wearing a mask and everything, we're pretty sure it's an akuma!"

"Alright," Roger said, immediately rushing to grab his brown trench-coat. "Where is it this time?"

"Francois-Dupont," the officer replied swiftly, leading Roger out toward the police cars. "You know, that school your daughter used to go to."

"Ahh yes," Roger grumbled, frowning. He muttered under his breath. "That school..."

Alya could feel the awkwardness that hung over the room. She stood in front of Marinette, who was sitting down on a white mattress.

Alya's room was on the second floor of the Francois-Dupont building. A stone hallway lined up around the interior in which the girls dorms were located. Just below were the boys dorms, where Nino and the other boys were staying. It was a lovely view, with a beautiful large glass window in the ceiling.

Her room was very comfy, and warm. A large cupboard took up the left space of the room, and a bed shuffled off to the left corner along with it. A large window was planted right opposite the front door with floral-patterned curtains. A desk was stationed to the opposite corner with her schoolbooks and other school supplies along with a desk lamp. Posters were placed neatly all around the room, and a clock was perched right above her study desk. Since Marinette has moved in, she bought along all of her things from home, though it wasn't much. A dusty mattress, a dirty duffel bag and a thin cotton bag with her school things.

The fire at Marinette's home must have been really bad, if this is all she has...

A fire along with her mom's murder...how crazy is that?
