'Wanna meet for a drink tomorrow? I think we have a lot of catching up to do. Robert x'

I read the message twice, he really wanted to meet to talk about the past two years. Honestly I wasn't sure whether I should answer him or ignore him. Maybe things were good the way they were, us not having any kind contact. What if he tried to play me again? It would just cause unnecessary pain. But before I knew I had answered.

'Meet me at 2pm at he cafe next to the cinema. Love, Ams.' No response of him.

"Amber?" My mum. I was sitting in the living room.

"Yeah?" I put the phone aside and looked up to her.

"Where were you the night?"

"Somewhere." I grinned, she raised on eyebrow.

"Somewhere? So you met a guy? Is that why you keep starring at your phone?"

"No." I answered quickly.

"Maybe you'll introduce me to him sooner or later."

"Mum... there is no guy. Trust me."

"Tell me what you want." She smirked and walked off.

I spent the rest of my day thinking about Robert. He was about to play me again, I just knew it.

The next day I woke up at 10 am and I had nothing to do. I sat down and listened to music until it was 1:45 pm. I got up and grabbed my keys then left the house. I wasn't sure if he would turn up because he hadn't answered to my message yesterday.

I entered the cafe and sat down waiting for him. I was distracted by my phone so I didn't realized someone sitting down opposite of me.

"Hey." My head shot up and I couldn't help but smile.

"Hey Robert." He was neatly dressed. Black dressing shirt and dark jeans. Both just looked fine on him.

"So... how are you today?" He asked awkwardly smiling.

"Fine. You?"

"Too. It was nice of you to agree to a meeting."

"Well... I couldn't leave an old man hanging, right?" I grinned at him just to see his amused and annoyed face.

"Oh. I'm not that old."

"Last time I checked you were 30 years older than me." He rolled his eyes.

"Hello! What can I bring you?" A young waiter disturbed our conversation.

"I'll just take a hot chocolate please." He wrote down my order and looked at Robert.

"And for your dad?" I started laughing out loud, you should've seen Robert's face. It looked so confused and weird.

"A coffee for my daddy." I answered for Robert who was now grinning at my comment. The waiter walked away fast.

"So you like calling me daddy then?"

"Oh shut up. Don't even think about it for a second. It's too weird. I just wanted to make fun." I giggled.

"Yeah sure. So did you have a boyfriend since we broke up" He asked more serious now.

"Of course I had one." I answered slightly confused by his sudden change of topic.

"How long did it last?"

"Around 5 months."

"Why did you break up?" Somebody was being really curious right now.

"He just wasn't right."

"Was I?" What?

"Let's talk about you first. Any relationships since our break up?"

"No. As I said I haven't found the right one yet."

"So you kept hooking up with girls?"

"Kinda. Not as young as you."

"Why me then?"

"Because it felt right for the moment. What about you?"

"Same answer." He was acting really weird right now but to my luck the waiter came and brought the coffee.

"Thanks." The both of us said synchronized our eyes met.

"Are you in love?" Robert asked with a serious expression on his face.

"Excuse me?" I chocked on my coffee.

"You heard me."

"I think not. Since someone broke my heart I wasn't really able to fall in love again." Downey just nodded. Great, now there was an awkward silence between the both of us.

"Amber?" His voice spoke up again, it was weak this time.

"Yeah?"

"I think I should apologize." He looked down into his coffee. "I did a huge mistake?" Oh, if follows what I think will follow I'll pour my coffee over this assholes head.

"What for? For meeting with me again?" I was about to stand up when he continued.

"No. Amber listen... I should've never let you go in the first place. What I did on the day we broke up was insanely premature. We should've talked like adults and me screaming at you for something like that was just stupid." He wasn't even able to make eye contact. Every part of his body showed regret and nervousness.

"It's a little late for that don't you think? Robert... you can't just break someones heart leaving them in tears for months and then two years later just apologize. That's not how it works! I locked myself up in my room for months! I talked to nobody. You broke my heart! You broke it into a million pieces and now you expect that I forgive you? Because you apologized?" I was furious but at the same time all the sadness, all the pain, just everything I felt when Robert broke up with me came up again. Before I even could continue I broke into tears. "Robert you can't just do that! Do you know how much it still hurts? Do you?" I stood up and took my jacket. "I can't do this!" I stormed outside, rain lashed into my face. When did it start to rain? I didn't care. All I knew was that I just wanted to leave Robert behind me as quickly as possible.

As I thought he wouldn't follow me someone grabbed my arm and spun me around. To my surprise it was Robert, his dress shirt soaked from the rain, his hair sticking to his head and he was panting.

"Amber..." I wanted to turn around but I just couldn't. Something deep inside of me wanted me to stay here. "I love you. I never stopped loving you. Whenever I was alone my thoughts crept their way to you. I missed you. I thought by letting you go like that I would be able to forget you but I was mistaken. I wasn't able to forget you." He was dead serious. He meant every word he just said.

"Robert, I just can't. Really. Please leave me alone." No more words were spoken. Longing gazes collided. Thousands of imagines of the both of us popped up in my head, every gaze, every laugh, every kiss we shared and suddenly all the pain seemed to have disappeared.

His soft lips were on mine moving so gently as if he was scared to break me. His eyes were closed and the raindrops from the raging storm on the outside dripped down from his eyelashes. But it was just us. I closed my eyes and kissed back burying my hand in his wet but soft hair.
