Eamon's P.O.V.I woke up to Bentley punching me.
"Ow! Why are you in here? This isn't even your room!" I exclaimed while holding my arm.He left and I changed into a pair of jeans and Carson came into the room. I took my shirt off and was trying to find another one in my drawer and he asked me "What happened to you?" referring to my scars.
"None of your business." I answered.
He scoffed and I put a collared shirt on.
"You know, if you get into the school that's away from our school you have to wear a uniform." Carson told me.
"Sounds like a smart people school. I'm definetly not getting into that school." I replied.
"It's not. Ours is. They wear uniforms at the other school so they can look sophisticated even though they're not." Carson said.
I nodded and went downstairs.
I sat on the couch in the living room and mom came over to me after ten minutes.
"Eamon, aren't you gonna eat breakfast?" She said.
"No. I'm not hungry." I replied.
"But you have the placement test today. You need to eat so you do good on it." She said.
"Mom, I'm noy hungry. Just leave me alone. Stop trying to force feed me food." I replied.
She sighed and left the room.I went on my phone until mom came back into the room.
"I'm leaving for work. Bye E monkey." She said.
"Bye." I replied and she walked out the door.
"Bye Eamon. Good luck on the test." Dave said as he walked to the door.
"Thanks. Bye." I replied and he left.Bentley and Wallu came into the room and sat down beside me on the couch.
"How old are you?" Wally asked.
"Eleven." I answered quietly.
He nodded and Carson came into the room.
"Guys, we gotta go." Carson told us.
We all put our shoes on and I was about to walk outside when Carson stopped me.
"Coat. Now." He said pointing to it."But it's not even cold out." I whined.
"It is in the mornings. Put it on." He said.
"But Bentley's not wearing one." I pointed out.
"Bentley's 15. You're 9." Carson replied.
"I am not! I am 11! Almost 12!" I exclaimed.
They all smirked and Bentley said "Actually kid, I forgot my coat at school, so I will wear it when I get it."
I sighed and tried to grab my coat but the coat hook that mom put it on was too high.
I sighed and Bentley took my coat off the hook and gave it to me.
"Thanks." I mumbled while putting it on.
I zipped it up and we went outside to Carson's car.
I got in the back with Wally and Carson started driving."How long does the placement test take?" Bentley asked Carson.
"One hour." Carson answered.
"Are you sure you don't need a booster seat, ya big baby?" Wally smirked.
"Shut up." I replied.
He punched me in the arm and hit me in the back of the head.
I held my arm and started crying while hiding my face.
"What did you do to him, Wall?" Carson asked.
"Punched him in the arm." Wally answered.
"What the frick did you do that for?" Carson exclaimed.
"He told me to shut up." He simply replied.
"Dude, don't do that! You're like four times his size!" Carson said.
"Why do you care anyway?" Wallyquestioned.
"Because he's a little kid! He's a lot younger than us!" Carson exclaimed.
"Stop yelling!" I said.
The whole car went quiet and I could tell Wally was looking at me.The car came to a stop and Carson said "Bye guys. I'll pick you up from football practice."
"Bye." They replied and got out of the car.
We drove to the other school and got out.
We went inside and Carson told them that we were here for me to take the placement test.
They brought us to a room and gave me the test while Carson sat outside in the waiting room. One hour later...
I just got finished the test and I didn't understand the majority of it.
The only things I think I got right were the grammar and reading questions.
I walked out of the room and went home with Carson. As soon as we got home, I ran upstairs to our room and laid down on my bed.
All I kept thinking the whole time I was taking the test was all of the horrible things that my dad would scream at me and how true they are.
I started crying and I heard Carson walk in.
"What's wrong?" He asked.
"Everything!" I answered.
"I'm sure you did fine on the test." He said.
"No I didn't. The whole test was just me not knowing anything for an hour straight! I'm stupid! Everything he said is true!" I screamed.
"Wait, everything who said is true?" Carson asked.
"My dad! He said I'm worthless and he's right!" I answered.
"Do not talk about yourself like that. You are not worthless." Carson replied.
"How would you know? You don't even know me." I said.
"I don't have to know you to know what a great kid you are. My dad would always tell us the amazing things your mom would tell him about you." He replied.
"Is there anything I can do to help you?" He asked.
"I just want to be left alone." I answered.
"Okay. Can I take your coat downstairs at least?" He offered.
I nodded and gave him my coat.
He took it and left.
I cried for a little bit longer and then fell asleep.Three hours later...
I woke up to people talking in my room. I opened my eyes to see Carson and two other guys in my room.
Carson must have heard me moving around because he looked over at me.
I quickly closed my eyes and tried to go back to sleep.
After twenty minutes, Carson tapped me on the head.
"Get up." He told me.
"No." I replied.
"But you have to eat lunch." He said.
"I'm not hungry." I mumbled.
"You didn't eat dinner last night or breakfast this morning. You need to eat something. We're getting pizza. Now get up." He told me.
"No." I replied.
"Don't make me put you on the ground." He said.
I didn't do anything and he sighed.
He lifted me up and I tensed up.
He put me down on the ground and I ran downstairs to get away from Carson and his friends.I laid down on the couch and Carson came downstairs with his friends.
Since I was taking up most of the couch, he sat on my legs and I screamed since he practically crushed them.
He laughed while getting up and moved me so his friends and him could sit down.I started playing with my hands since I was nervous because Carson was really close to me and because his two friends who for all I know are two strangers he found on the street are sitting beside him.
"Stop fidgeting." Carson said hitting my hands.
I jumped since he scared me and I folded my arms while looking down.
"Stop pouting, ya big baby." Carson sighed.
"I'm not." I replied.
"You totally are." He said.
"No I'm not! Just leave me alone!" I replied.
"Okay, damn. Calm down. I was just messing with you." He said.
The doorbell rang, signaling that the pizza guy was here and Carson got up.
He paid the pizza guy and took the pizza.
"We're eating in the kitchen. Come on." He told us.
We all got up and went to the kitchen.Ten minutes into eating, I heard the front door open.
Oh thank God. David is here to save me from Carson and his friends.
"Hey guys. What's up?" I heard Wally say as he walked in with Bentley.
Ugh. It's them. I wish it was Dave.
"Not much. I just kicked their two sorry asses in Madden." Carson answered while pointing to his two friends. They sat down on either side of me and grabbed a piece of pizza.
"Football practice got rained out and we're skipping the rest of the day." Bentley told Carson."How was the placement test, dork?" Bentley asked.
I didn't respond and Wally said "Hey, he asked you a question."
"I don't want to talk about it." I answered.
They all laughed and I looked down.
I finished eating my pizza and then went upstairs to my room.I watched TV for a couple hours and then mom and David came home around five o'clock.
They called us down for dinner and I didn't go down, so Carson came into our room.
"Don't make me lift you up." He smirked.
I sighed and stood up.
I quickly hugged him since I was still feeling a little bad and he pushed me away.We went downstairs and into the kitchen.
I sat down beside Carson and we started eating.
"Did you eat today, E monk-" Mom said.
"Yes." I replied cutting her off.
"How doyou think you did on the placement test?" She asked.
"Horrible." I answered.
"Honey, don't say that. I'm sure you did fine." She replied.
"No, mom. I really didn't. The whole test was pointless. It just makes you feel worse about yourself. The whole time I just sat there confused as hell for the whole hour. It doesn't matter anyway. So everybody please stop asking!" I told them.
It fell silent and I finished eating.
"May I please be excused?" I asked.
"Yes, honey." Mom answered.
I went upstairs to my room and fell asleep.
