As Izland came to, she saw four little babies. "Where's my other little baby girl", she asked trying to find Lander or a nurse. "Izland", Lander breathed, "your awake". "Yeah, where's my baby?", Izland said noticing how red and puffy Lander's eyes were. "Um....she didn't make it", Lander said tears threatening to fall. "What?!?!", Izland said trying to get up. She felt a horrible pain near her gut. "Ah?!", Izland yelped in pain. "Izland", Lander said with tears rolling down his cheeks," you need to rest". "How am I supposed to rest when my baby is dead, why would you think I could even think about sleep right now?!?!?!!!!!", Izland yelled the anger and sadness clearly heard in her voice. "I am so sorry Izland, there was nothing they could do", Lander said in between sobs. "Nothing, nothing?!", Izland yelled. "Is everything ok in here", a nurse said a worried look on her face. "Yes, there is something wrong, where is my child", Izland said tears pouring out of her eyes. "As your husband has probably already mentioned, we lost it during your emergency C-section", the nurse said not meeting Izland's eyes. "Why, was my body not able to keep it alive? Was it me who killed it", Izland said her voice getting higher the more she spoke. "No, it was no ones fault", the nurse said finally meeting Izland's eyes. "Give me my babies", Izland demanded tears rolling down her cheeks. "I don't think you are stable", the nurse said. "IM NOT STABLE", Izland yelled making the nurse jump,"I'll show you stable". Izland triend to get up, but just ended up yelping in pain. "I'll go get another nurse", the nurse said with wide eyes. After she walked out the door Izland said,"give me one of our children, Lander". ************************* Tears rolled down her cheek as Lander handed her her last baby. "Lander, is it bad that I am happy that I have them, but sad that I don't have my other baby girl", Izland said still crying. "The doctor said it is ok for you to be sad", Lander replied. The doctor then came in and told Izland she would be able to return home tomorrow. After the doctor left, Lander asked, "Have you called your mother?" "Yes, I called her 6 hours ago. She is probably just getting home from Florida, she was heading home yesterday", Izland replied. "Ok", Lander said in response. ****************************** "I'm here, I'm here", Trisha called as she ran into the room. "Mother!?", Izland asked. "Yes, now where are my grandchildren", She asked looking around. "The nurses just took them to the nursery, so I could rest", Izland said. "Oh, ok. Are Zane and Gabbie still here and what did you name them?", Trisha asked excited. "Have a seat. Lander, go get Zane and Gabbie and then we will tell all of you there names", Izland replied smiling. "Ok", Lander and Trisha said in sync. ****************************** "Tell us?!", Gabbie squealed excited. "The nurse hasn't brought the other baby boy", Izland said, "I want all the children here when I tell you their names". A nurse walked in with the last baby, "Sorry it took me so long, this little man is a handful", she said with a smile. "Oh my goodness, I hope he calms down before we go home", Izland said with a chuckle. "What's this little guys name?", the nurse said cooing at the baby. "I was fixing to tell everyone all of their names", Izland replied, "I guess we will start with him. "His name is Matthew William James, Matt for short", Lander said taking Matt from the nurse. "So cute!", Gabbie squealed. "This baby boy's ", Izland said nodding toward the baby boy in her arms, "name is Jacob Stefan James". "I love how sophisticated it sounds", Trisha said smiling. "The little girl that Trisha is holding name is Kezley LaDelle James", Lander said looking at Izland. "Last but not least is the little girl that Zane is holding, her name is Kassiani Nicole James", Izland said smiling at Lander. "What was the little girl's name that passed away?", Gabbie asked looking sad. "Her name was Kenndy Taylor James", Izland said smiling sadly at Jacob, who was resting in her arms. "That's a beautiful name", Gabbie replied smiling sadly at Izland. ****************************** "We better be going", Gabbie said getting up, "We will be back tomorrow". Zane got up and they left after giving Lander and Izland a hug. "I almost forgot, I got you something, Izland", Trisha said grabbing a bag from beside the couch she was sitting at. "Here you go", She said passing it to Izland and taking Jacob in her arms. She opened the gift and inside was a notebook and three gorgeous pens. "Mom, thank you so much", Izland said smiling. She pulled out one of the pens and open to a clean page and wrote, "Living Life in fours".
