Chapter 5

I put down my list and decided to take a nap. When I woke up I realized it was almost dinner time and that Septimus was looking down at me sleeping I heard him mumble so cute. The little stalker! Ugh is there any peace in the world? Well slytherins are definitely relentless. When he realized I was wake he looked embarrassed. Serves him right! But he's sooo cute when he's embarrassed. No why am I thinking that?!?! I can't fall in love with him! He's my sworn enemy. You know the saying old pride dies hard. Well I'm the living representation of that. He then lifts my head up and sits down putting my head in his lap and begins stroking my hair I immediately jump up and glare at him leaving the dormitory and him once again. I decide I'm hungry no starving to be exact and go down to the dining hall waving to some little first years on the way if only I was as young and as innocent as them. when I get to the Great Hall I take a seat next to Jackie who looks a little pissed off.

"Really girl you left me like that! I can't believe you. I went and found Septimus and asked him out he said no he obviously likes you."

"Oh the joy" I reply

"Honestly I don't see what he sees in you your not very pretty and your a slob."

Well that was a slap in the face.

"Thanks and I'm sure he would like some stuck up prat. That's too nosy for her own good."

This time she actually slapped me. Hard. All I saw after the impact was darkness, deep black darkness.

When I woke up I was in the hospital wing and Madame Pomfrey was standing over me. I had an ice pack on my head and when she realized I was awake she asked...

"What happened?"

"Oh you know my best friend slapped the living day lights out of me just the usual." I replied sarcastically

"Oh the poor dear that's horrible! Oh by the way you'll have to stay hear for he next 3 days to recover that was a hard blow and she hexed you too."

Great Just great I thought I get to spend pretty much the rest of my week in the infirmary. Oh joy hear come the rumors. I'm tired after all of this so I fall asleep waking to darkness and a profile of a face over mine.

"Are you awake?" Septimus asked

"Yeah"

"What happened?"

"Jackie slapped me after I insulted her oh and she hexed me too."

"That's horrible! Why did you insult her?"

She told me she asked you on a date and you said no and she said she didn't see why you liked me."

Here come the waterworks. I begin crying slow and steady.

"Why do you like me?"

"Oh Phoenix, I thought you would know that by now. Your beautiful, smart, funny, and your enjoyable to be around."

I jut breathe for a few moments.

"Septimus?"

"Yeah?"

"I'm ready"

"For what?"

"A relationship with you. I will be your girlfriend. I know you love me and you'll take care if me. I'm giving you my heart please don't break it."

"Never"

And then he swooped down and kissed me firmly but gently at the same time, like he didn't want to break me., it filled me with a warm fuzzy feeling of happiness. I never thought I would love him but my heart melted. I needed someone to love and he is the answer. Good bye sanity.
