Chapter 3

I woke up at 3. My mum put my laundry next to my door. I automatically reached for my phone, looking for any text messages from Carter. Nothing but a text from that girl at the bar who wanted to come over. I deleted the messages, not bothering to respond.

I saw no purpose in getting out of bed so I forced myself to go back to sleep.

Carter and I went to the park. We were laughing and  I bought her an ice cream. We were sitting on the swings next to each other. I reached for her hand and she let me hold it. Our fingers interlocked. I reached over and gave her a kiss on her cheek. She stood in front of me, cupping my face, she kissed me. I held her tighter, deepening the kiss. "I love you" she whispered. I smiled, and said "I love you too". We shared a few more kisses and I thought that life couldn't get any better.

"Harry wake up." Gemma pushed my arm.

It was a dream. Just.when I thought my life was perfect, I wake up to this fucked up world. I groaned, trying to fall back asleep so I can see her again. But, Gemma would not stop pestering me, so I got up.

"What do you want." I groaned in frustration.

"Can I borrow your car, mine is getting fixed. The engine is not working again."

"Fine."

She left a kiss on my cheek and I playfully acted like I was disgusted. She rolled her eyes, leaving my room. I sat up in bed, not able to fall asleep again. My stomach grumbled. I was too lazy to make anything, and it was 3 in the afternoon. I had nothing better to do so I ordered a pizza.

Most of the day consisted of eating pizza and watching movies on Netflix. Gemma was out all day and my mum had some book club with her friends.

After a while, I got hooked on a television show, Teenage Liars. It reminded me of Carter and I. I got up to season 3 and I just turned off the tv. I couldn't watch it anymore, I began to get too emotional for some reason and I hated it.

I decided to go outside at some point. I found myself at the bar again. Next thing I knew, I was snogging with a girl in the alley next to the place. She blew me and that was it. I imagined it was Carter between my legs and it made it better. When I came into the girls mouth, I quietly moaned Carter's name, making sure the girl didn't hear me.

I had nothing better to do than soak in self pity all night. I got drunk, went home, and ignored the suspecting questions that were fired at me by my mother. I locked myself in my room and put in my headphones, drowning out the rest of the world. I really don't need this crap right now.

After dinner, Niall and I hung out in his room. He turned on his X-Box and we played some Fifa for a bit. Of course he won, I'm not really much of a gamer. He tried to teach me but I failed miserably. He did let me win one round though, and I complimented myself to a can of soda from his mini fridge. He made a few cheesy jokes, as always. Niall will always be Niall. By 3 am, we were sitting on his bed, trying to beat our scores in Fun Run, one game I was actually good at. He accused me of cheating and I laughed at his excuse for losing. Somehow, we fell asleep, on that bed. My head was on his chest. I fell asleep to the peaceful sound of his heart beating, the best lullaby a girl can hear.

Niall wasn't in bed, next to me, when I woke up. I heard the sink water running in his bathroom so I assumed he was in there. I got up and knocked on the door. 

"Niall." I called.

Someone answered the door. But, it wasn't Niall, it wasn't his  mom, or his dad. It was a tall girl, she had long brown hair that was tied up in a ponytail. She had a toothbrush in her mouth and the foam was falling from her lips. She had shorts that exposed her legs, that I immediately became jealous of. I took in all of this in a matter of seconds. She had a confused expression on her face. Well, I had never met the girl before so I introduced myself. She told me her name was Steph. She claimed she Niall's "girlfriend" she said using air quotes.
